Chromo XY

I have yet to write a review of a product without finishing it, and wont write a review of a game that I refunded, Well, I'm gonna bat 500 on this one. The graphics are fine, as far as the art style is concerned. The music was okay, but at least one track was fading and then rebounding loudly which wouldn't have been a problem, but lowering it to a decent level made the fade much too low. I'm a bit of an audiophile so I know a mistake when I hear it. The story was so-so, and since it has a sci-fi bent to it; I can forgive little inconsistencies. Now on to the unforgivable errors as of less than an hour of gameplay. Inconsistencies in narrative and graphics/sprites. When the narrative says a girl is trying on a skirt and blouse, and the sprite shows her in a pair of slacks and blouse; I wonder if I have found a glitch. When next it says she is trying on a dress, and she is in a pair of pants and a shirt; I wonder about quality control. When next a girl is supposed to be in lingerie, and she is in her daily sprite (a dress BTW); I begin to think that I should just punch Eject. If you're gonna change the graphic in the first two cases anyway; try to make them at least consistent with the narrative as it breaks immersion in the story. The lack of change in the third example is just lazy. I have stayed away from Dharker Studios titles because I am not all that interested in yuri, and they seem sorta yuri-centric to say the very least. I'm not against yuri, or even yaoi as long as the story is good; to each their own, but in this day and age I sorta shy away from agenda driven corporate narratives. I doubt i will finish this title, but hope springs eternal... Best I can give is a 5/10 on Chromo XY

Premise: A young, female scientist and a young, male lab assistant are good friends and roommates. They work at the same research facility. The scientist is working on a youth pill. She gets her friend to try it and it has the unintended effect of turning him into a girl. This visual novel was lovely, charming and interesting. Good story, good art, and sexy. From other reviews, I gather that you can get different endings. I only played it once and am very pleased with the ending I got. It took me 5.0 hours to get through it, but I am leisurely and the art is so good that I stopped often to take screenshots. In summary, this is about gender changing, done tastefully. It gave me some insight into how the other side lives.

ein lesespiel für zwischendurch. einige antwortmöglichkeiten zur auswahl. schöne/sexy kleidung zu sehen. coole mädchen. alles unzensiert. gallerie gibt es auch. musik ist gut/entspannt. der preis für dieses spiel ist im angebot (-40%) noch etwas zu hoch, -50% wäre in ordnung. alle errungenschaften funktionieren.

Gotta say, it is always fun having short games like this that have multiple endings. And the endings are so diverse too. Quick, easy game about being turned into a girl and then some. Suspend your disbelief and hop aboard champ.

Bon, que de de CXY ... déçut. Je pensais me remettre aux VN avec celui-ci, me disant que vu le pitch de l'histoire, il y aurait ... je sais pas ... un genre d'élément rpg qui tiendrai la route, comme par exemple choisir de quel manière on s'habille, ce en quoi ça influe sur une grosse histoire ... faire des choix entre aller bosser ou se balader ... Bah non. J'en attendais trop je pense. Pour quelqu'un qui aime les VN, je dis pas, peut-etre que çà passe. Mais clairement, pour quelqu'un qui comme moi n'accroche pas au genre, passez votre chemin. Même si l'histoire est amusante, on est tellement limité dans les choix et dans le MANQUE de choix que ça en devient rébarbatif, et c'est pas une deuxième partie qui changera la donne. Pour moi malheureusement je ne peux pas recommander ce jeu aux personnes qui comme moi veulent renouer avec le genre ou découvrir le genre.

Not a bad story about trying to make a pill for immortality but it goes horribly wrong. Change the main character gender. CG is pretty good but it spoils some of the dialogue at times.

Fun game with different endings and routes based on your desicions.
