Just played Chroma, I like the concept, gunplay, and abilities! If you love Dark Souls difficulty and military grade torture, you will enjoy this game! However, I didn't enjoy myself. The game is so difficult, that after multiple retries, I had to downgrade from normal to easy, which was NOT easy. I wish I could tell when the purple jumping enemy bots were going to attack a little better so I could know when to dodge. Most of the time I'm getting hit and not sure from where. I did get to the second area eventually, but once I died (again) and the game restarted from the beginning, I logged off the game.

Spero in aggiornamenti futuri.
This is an immensely satisfying game to play. The shooting and movement controls are smooth like butter, and every shot feels like it packs a punch. The game is short but I think that is a good thing in this case. It's never too much of a hassle to restart from the beginning, and a few good decisions will lead you to victory in no time at all. The sheer number of battery and upgrade combinations will leave you itching to try again and again. And the final boss fight is a cathartic end to the experience. It's very chaotic while still feeling fair, and your battery choices still have a major impact on how the fight plays out.

Unlocking new levels and abilities feels rewarding and satisfying. 📈🏆
Cons:
📉 Short Length One downside is the short length of the game. While the content is high quality, it may not take long to complete, leaving you wanting more. 📉⏳ 🔄 Limited Replayability I feel the game lacks replayability. Once you’ve solved the puzzles, there’s not much incentive to go back and play again. 🔄🔁
Other Drawbacks:
🔧 Minor Technical Issues Personally, I encountered some minor technical issues, such as occasional lag or glitches. These can slightly disrupt the gameplay experience. ⚠️🔧 🌐 Lack of Multiplayer The game lacks multiplayer features, which could have added a fun and competitive element. The unique concept and smooth progression add to its appeal, making it a highly enjoyable experience. However, the short length and limited replayability might leave some players wanting more. Minor technical issues and the lack of multiplayer features are also drawbacks. Overall, CHROMA is a great choice for those looking for a visually captivating and challenging puzzle game. If you enjoy innovative mechanics and beautiful design, it’s definitely worth a try.
The movement is one of the most smoothest I've experienced. The game is hard af, even on easy mode - takes you a while to get through the levels. Mechanics are pretty clean, and the gameplay is seamless in terms of knowing what to do. The different battery combinations, dishing out some cool jump movements and trying to stay alive, is insanely addictive. I would say there are times when the audio cues from the robots gets a little too loud, and if the robots are just too many, it gets a little overwhelming because there are so many sounds playing in my headphones which basically means I don't understand where to look - so I get obliterated. There are times where I don't understand where a robot is coming from either because I didn't hear them, or the audio cues weren't spatial enough. The sound design in itself is really good, and fits the game - especially considering the fact that this is a student game. Especially the reloading clicks, the slaps when the gun is out, and the unique sweetener sounds for when a specific power up shot is ready. 10/10 on the VFX, presentation, character and enemies. Again, the game is hard at times even on easy (or maybe that's just a skill issue lol), so I didn't feel like trying out the medium or hard difficulties (yet). Voice acting for the main character sounded great, and I like how your helper friend on your hologram watch keeps telling you to stop messing around and get done with a certain objective so you're still in the know of what to do. The main menu screen seemed to be laggy but not the game itself while playing, and if there are a bunch of enemies on my screen it starts getting a little too heavy and laggy. What I'd like more is there to be a mini tutorial of what to expect, and how to use the power ups (batteries). Perhaps a mini map might help finish the levels quicker and progress to the next part of the seemingly straightforward story, I like how the levels are randomized, so every time you restart you could get a different level - but that also means I lose my progress. Being able to re-play the level I died in would be awesome. But the system design, controls, movement, animations, VFX, all seem to be very intricately designed. Trying different battery combinations was super fun! So, for a student project - it's absolutely insane. Great job! <3
=)
KABOOM! the batteries pack a punch. Just finished utilizing green battery the most, and damn had a blast. From smooth movement to complex combinations to chaotic boss battle, the game has it all.
Truly awful game, I like the idea of what the developers are trying to achieve. But it feels like a school project worked on over a weekend, where every worker has worked individually and bodged it together just before release. The battery perks for the gun don't last very long, the gun reload takes too long - and doesn't seem to be mapped to a button, the few med packs are hard to find amongst the game play - when you do find them they often timeout and disappear, the dash and fly perks take too long to recharge. Essentially you spend most of the time running around on the ground as a prime target for the robots to inevitably kill you. Sometimes the selection of battery perks are OK, but you can only pick three to fill six slots. The gun is even worse when a battery perk isn't selected. I understand it's supposed to be a speed run type of game, but at least design it so the game elements can work with each other instead of feeling like it's intentionally designed to be bad. I tried this game for an hour, didn't manage to pass a single mission, despite trying at least three different auto selected missions. I'm glad it's a free game, not worth paying a single penny. If someone has managed to make any progress, please comment and if I make any progress I'll adjust my review accordingly.
