choo choo charles gives you dread when you get out of the train and doesn't attack you he lurks, making you know he will attack you right when you get in the train. he wants you to fear your safe spot he wants to fight when you think your safe, thats how its scary. if you think its not.

As someone who completed only the normal game mode so far, as well as bought the game while on a summer sale for $3, this game was phenomenal. I would say that this game is much more worth it if you buy it on a major sale, as I could not see buying this game for $20 USD. Ignoring the price, this game is really well done is almost all aspects. The horror element is great (especially in the hardcore mode), and tension is built extremely quickly as soon as you hear the train horn. The audio was just, *chefs kiss*, perfect when wearing headphones. The atmosphere this game creates is exactly what it strives to make, and is genuinely a fun open world survival horror game. The story is well executed, as well as the characters which progress it. I've seen people say the map is very bland, but I disagree. It was a good time wondering around with my train whenever I saw a seemingly abandoned structure on the map. The ending was also really intense and fun, especially since I went around the map and did everything before finishing the game. It's very similar to the final boss fight in REANIMAL if you've played that. I think my only critique about this game is the fact that there aren't any melee weapons to fight the cultist members with; I found myself sometimes luring each individual one to my train just to blow them up. Also, if you get seen by a cultist member, you CANNOT lose them, so you might as well commit and just run wherever you're supposed to go and don't look back. I would not recommend buying this for $20 USD, but anything below $10 makes it a fun and exhilarating horror experience. 9/10. SPOILERS: R.I.P. Eugene, gone too soon... Who's gonna tell Paul

"Amazing atmosphere, exploration, and mystery. Upgrading the train is really satisfying and Charles is genuinely creepy. My only complaint is the optimization—I experienced some FPS drops and had to tweak the graphics settings to get smooth performance. Other than that, super game."

Choo-Choo Charles fue una experiencia que disfruté muchísimo. Desde el primer momento logra crear una mezcla muy original entre exploración, supervivencia y terror. La idea de enfrentarse a un tren monstruoso con patas de araña es tan extraña como divertida, y consigue mantener la tensión durante toda la aventura. Explorar la isla para conseguir mejoras para el tren hace que el progreso se sienta muy satisfactorio, mientras que cada encuentro con Charles pone los nervios de punta. El estilo visual, la atmósfera y la música ayudan a crear un ambiente inquietante que mantiene el interés de principio a fin. Aunque la historia es relativamente corta, nunca se siente aburrida. Cada misión aporta algo nuevo y las mejoras del tren hacen que las batallas sean cada vez más emocionantes. El combate final resulta muy satisfactorio y da un buen cierre a la aventura. En general, Choo-Choo Charles es un juego original, entretenido y diferente a cualquier otro. Si te gustan los juegos de terror con exploración y acción, es una experiencia muy recomendable. Calificación: 10/10.
