Choices: Stories You Play

Cliffhangers I have been a loyal user of the Choices app since it started in 2016. I have read and enjoyed so many great books on this app. I know there are people who complain about the changes, but honestly, I don’t mind them. It doesn’t bother me that the art styles have changed, or that we are getting smaller books instead of the usual 16 chapter books. What does frustrate me is the fact that TWO DIFFERENT BOOKS have now ended in a cliffhanger with no indication that we will get any closure to those stories. First Scream for Me and now Breaking Ice. It honestly makes me not want to read any new books that y’all put out in the future because what confidence do I have that they will have endings that actually complete the story. Why would I spend money on diamonds for those books?

Superb to subpar to smut I’ve been playing this game since it was Centerscore (2007). When technology shifted years ago, the game improved tremendously. The writing, graphics, and genre diversity were unmatched. Now, everything is cliche, low tier, and superficial. I stopped paying for the subscription when every storyline adopted the same predictable and unrealistic pattern. The story lines are marketed as “romance” but really it’s just sex driven. Character development is nonexistent. The story lines involving people of color went from being nonexistent to acceptable to straight up stereotypical. Everything has been going downhill since they fired half of their writers during covid. If you like the run-of-the-mill smut that’s on other platforms, you’ll enjoy the new direction. If you require substance, play the original stories and then delete the app.

Massively Disappointed I have played this app since launch. I have been a huge fan of it for YEARS and yes, there have always been run of the mill stories with lazy writing and annoying characters, but the thing that has made the app so much fun for me is the fact that they were REAL stories written by REAL people, the same people who wrote High School Story when I played it in middle school. I have always been a Pixelberry fan and I have always thought that this app was the superior interactive visual novel game. I haven’t read any of the new stories because honestly? None of them have interested me. So I wasn’t aware that this app was using AI in its writing and art. Still, the old stories don’t have that problem and I’m happy to engage with those, or at least I was. Partnering with an AI movie company to bring back two of the most beloved series on this app (one of which was canceled prematurely) is my last straw. I’m so deeply saddened by this. This was my comfort app. This was a huge part of my childhood and now it has been tainted.

AI slop :( used to dig this app. now some choices are 40 diamonds, stories are getting shorter, and they use AI

Hero v2 They put the whole choice part of choices out and have it as a full written story it wasn’t the character I made in the previous book it was someone else’s our choices should shape the story not just have a cartoon that was written by someone else if that’s what i wanted I would go on to Netflix or something not play a game called choices

Longtime fan I’ve been playing choices for over 5 years now. It’s been one of my favorite games. I love the stories, the characters, the inclusivity, and diversity it provides. I love so many of the stories from The Elementalists, Hot Shot (good for the heated rivalry lovers), Americas Most Eligible (for the love island lovers 🤭), and even Foreign Affairs (for the red white and blue lovers).

App will not load, despite trying everything. Ever since the most recent update, I cannot open the app. The loading screen is stuck in buffering mode, and I’ve tried everything to fix it. I love this app, but would really appreciate if the PB team could fix this ASAP because a ton of us haven’t been able to play for weeks.
