Chessplosion

Chessplosion reinvents chess around a brand-new piece: the Giant Pawn.

Occupying a 2×2 area, the Giant Pawn changes movement, captures, and traditional chess strategy. It can become a major threat on the board, but destroying it can also trigger an explosion that completely transforms the position.

When a Giant Pawn is captured, its explosion creates four pawns that can eliminate pieces occupying their squares. If it reaches the opposite side of the board, it can give rise to two Amazons, powerful pieces combining the movement of a queen and a knight.

The familiar foundations of chess are still here, but you'll need to rethink how you use them.
