Checkout: Cashier Simulator

Who doesn't love having a relaxing chill pixel graphic game like Checkout Cashier Simulator where all you do is nothing except paying for all the customer's groceries? I mean it's already amazing to me since I love cute pixel chill games!

It is cute but sadly I can not recommend. There are better games out there. This gets repetitive quick and not in the relaxing way. I don't understand why there are different levels when every level feels the same. There is no "upgrade system" so it doesn't feel rewarding. Inputting the sku's for the produce is annoying it would be fun if the numbers were easy to memorize, if i didn't have to flip through a million pages, or if the pictures actually looked like the produce! Also the game feels like I should be quick to check people out but it takes foreverrrr to get another bag, or to input the sku's with the mouse instead of keyboard, putting the credit card in, getting the receipt, items coming down the conveyor belt. Just leaves me frustrated.

I definitely recommend this game! Very cute art, and somewhat challenging but simple gameplay. The most challenging thing for me was looking up produce codes in the book, as I struggle with differentiating similar colors - so it took me a while to catch on. By the end of the game I had a lot of the produce codes memorized though. I really like that there's an endless mode to this for more relaxed play, but I also liked the story & competitive feel to the story mode (and earning stars).

So satisfying to sort all the products, colour coded. It's a bit like a Tetris checkout game. Grab the products and pack them neatly and colour coded ideally to get the points, bag up with a click and use the correct payment method - it's simple but so satisfying. Typing in the correct code for the fruit and veg was fun too once I finally realised (yeah I feel stupid) that they were in alphabetical order, so no need to run through the catalogue to try and match the picture to the fruit. Really enjoyable.

Genuinely a fun sort of zen process. Fun art, just enough complexity, and a satisfying casual play experience. I would love to see an expansion of the story mode that allows more apparent progression. From what I played it wasn't clear if the levels get harder, or if gameplay elements are added. If you like simple puzzle-based sims, check it out.

actually kind of addicting

Pretty cute game if you want to just turn your brain off for a little while. It is pretty repetitive but still not a bad game overall.

checkout is lovely, and doesn't overstay its welcome. it's pretty much what it says on the tin, and there's not too much in the way of upgrades or story that carries onwards, but the npcs have changing dialogue and there's an overall narrative that flows through. it can get a bit repetitive, but it's nice that they kept the story mode relatively short and gave you overtime + endless to play further if you wanted. great little game to zone out on while listening to a podcast or anything similar!
