About

Meet Charles, your everyday pollen bee, harboring an extraordinary passion for dance. With your assistance, he'll pop and lock on a treacherous journey across multiple landscapes, confronting the finest dancers they can muster. Ultimately, his eyes are set on the glittering prize: The Golden Bee Trophy.

Unfortunately, dancing doesn't exactly bring home the honey, especially when you're a bee with yet-to-be-proven talents. Thus, Charles juggles the world of dance with his day job, gathering pollen to fund entry into esteemed dance clubs and to dress himself in eye-catching attire. Can you have an adventure without a love interest? Yes, you could. But this adventure one has one anyway! Charles has been desperately trying to impress Beeanna, a girl (bee) from his hive.

this game wus very good i love it
A short and pretty fun rhythm game! Well, half of a rhythm game. You have to buy the dlc for the full story, which is fair. I've only got three main issues; the songs are a bit short, you can't rebind keys, and there's no calibration screen. To get the notes and beats to line up you just have to adjust a slider on the pause screen till it's good enough. Other than that, it's fun and worth a try! 6/10

one of the best rhythem games i have ever played. Cant wait to see where it goes next
A good game besides some poor design choices and softlocks/other bugs. Would have a lot of potential if most of the game weren't behind a paywall. The DLC would have been enticing were it at least a reasonable price, but the gameplay compared to the price is steaming garbage. Good luck with development, will try again when the whole game is free.
This is a fun lil' rhythm game. It plays kinda like ddr/stepmania, with 3 arrow keys instead of 4. It has a really simple pollen collecting minigame between dance fights, where you can search for tokens to spend in a shop that make the dance fights a bit easier. That said, it's not super challenging, just yet, but it looks like there's more content coming in the form of DLC, so things will probably step up in difficulty as the game and DLC goes on. It was a little buggy (heh) on launch, but it seems like all the issues I had before have been patched. Love to see a supported game.
Everyone said my name wrong, it made me angry! My name is Charles the bee!
造型有点非主流的bee想要成为Dance King。 音乐很有节奏感,就是对手指不灵活的人不太友好。收集花蜜真的太难搞了啊,我真的受不了在花丛中乱转回不了家里。 祝早日成为dance King。
A serviceable rhythm game with some negative buzz to it. As a rhythm game one of the most important aspects is of course the music, which didn’t disappoint me at all. There are some familiar melodies inspired by well-know classics such as the Flight of the Bumblebee. Additionally there are some really fun electronic pieces that I can believe might play in an actual club. Although I’m by no means a music expert, what I can say as a casual enjoyer of the art form is that the soundtrack of this game is a vibe and quite enjoyable. The graphics are simple and cute with some with some really fun designs for the different bees. There are some accessibility options in the options menu that are very nice to see as well, though I didn’t use any of them myself. With two different types of gameplay there is some variety to be found here as during the day you gather pollen with a side of exploration for a hidden Bee Token in each area while at night you engage in the rhythm portion and story of the game. Both types of gameplay are very basic, but functional. Still I don’t quite understand the use of the speed pads while gathering pollen since while they have a direction on them and are lined up in a specific path they don’t lead anywhere. This is not necessarily a negative, they neither add nor detract from the actual gameplay, it’s just a little confusing why they are there. What I will criticize however is the DLC being needed to experience the full story while the free part is still advertised as a complete game. To start DLCs aren’t really meant to work like this, usually they are extra content or side stories, but don’t have a significant portion of the main story locked behind a paywall. It simply makes what is advertised as a full game not a full game. An easy solution would have been to make Flutter Fields a Demo, then the full game could have had the price put on it and nobody would have paid it any mind. But how it is at the moment, leaving the story on a major cliffhanger and only then asking for money is just a little scummy. Personally I haven’t encountered any problems in terms of bugs besides the characters at least. Still I enjoyed the free part of the game and for a little drop of gameplay inbetween activities like how you would add a drop of honey to a cup of tea it suffices perfectly well. Consider this a middling review though Steam lacks the option for one.
At last, a good and simple game that is not very complicated
