About
Looking for something to eat, we take any job we can get. Today is our first day at work. The task is simple - digitize old VHS tapes. One by one, the tapes drop from a small elevator built into the wall. But with every new tape, something starts to feel wrong. Your goal is to complete your shift and digitize all tapes - but surviving until the end depends on your actions.
Channel 64 is a single-player, first-person psychological horror focused on tension, observation, and interaction. The player moves freely within a confined location and interacts with objects related to the work process. As the player progresses, they are frightened not only by the atmosphere but also by jumpscares. During the final stage of the shift, the player must act quickly as time becomes limited.
The main gameplay includes:
● Explore a building with several locations: a corridor, restroom, storage rooms, surveillance room, electrical room, janitor storage, boss’s office and your work room
● Search for codes and unlock new areas
● Collect tapes and digitize them using a VHS player
● Watch disturbing recordings and gradually uncover what is happening
● Complete small tasks inside the work room
● Finish digitizing all the tapes
● Escape from the monster
● Use the surveillance system to track the monster
● Obtain a weapon and face the creature in a final confrontation
● 2 possible endings — the player may survive… or not
● Minimal interface for immersion
● Single linear story
● Interactive tape handling system
● Player-driven ending system (2 outcomes)
● Jumpscares
● VHS-style visual effects
● There are a lot of secret details...
● and of course achievements
Approximate playtime: 30–40 minutes.
The game is a focused, single-session horror experience with a linear structure and multiple endings.
● Sudden loud sounds
● Jumpscares
● Flashing images
● Time-sensitive gameplay sequences

This was a good, short analog horror game. Some creepy VHS tapes, a little puzzle to solve, some spooks along the way. yeah I got my $2 worth of entertainment. check out my playthru (good & bad endings): https://youtu.be/I16lsHegskE
It's not that bad. It's very short (its pricetag reflects this) and it has a decent atmosphere but it misses the mark with some of its things it does. It has a secret hidden within the tapes with numbers, but the numbers never actually mattered. I think they might have helped you solve a maze in the vents but you don't actually ever need to do this. The monster was a bit creepy which I usually don't feel in horror games (so good work) but it was a bit ham fisted and didn't pay out. I think the developer could make some really good things, so heres some important notes. The scariest things are things that the player has agency over. When it's the players fault, or a players decision, that can be a real scare. Things that the player noticed but wasn't forced to. I thought the monster coming from the elevator was pretty spooky but it could've been handled just a bit more with nuance instead of being forced. I also thought some of the TV programs were well done but the text to speech does kill it. The ending was also a bit abrupt and unsatisfying. Keep up the good work. I know this is a negative review but I actually thought it was alright, it's just a little under the mark for me.

this was just a complete bunch of nonsense lol, top to bottom
Promising graphics, dumb story. Priced appropriately. No ill will or anything, it just was written as if the person didn't give a damn about the story and just wanted to get something done.
This was a fun small indie horror game, I like the unsettling atmosphere and the high audio quality during the tapes! I'd only suggest steam achievements and maybe more secrets? This studio has a lot of potential and I hope to see more!
Since neutral review isn't an option yet, I'm leaving a negative review on «Channel 64» for now. First things first «Channel 64» isn't a bad game, but it isn't all that great either. I'd say its mediocre at best with what it offers to a player for its cheap price and short gameplay. The atmosphere this game was trying to make with its graphics, gameplay loop and audio design made me feel a bit unsettled at first, but when the "scary" half of the game began, that's where it all fells apart, because the jumpscares that were thrown at me from time to time weren't scary at all, and in fact, most of them looked just goofy and cheap. I probably won't refund this game and maybe even attempt to get the rest of the achievements at some point in the future.
Sadly i just couldn't get into this but, had some good scares
cool game overall though a bit underutilized in a few things like the power room, backstory of the monster, and I guess the numbers that quickly appeared in the tapes since I don't understand what they are for. Another thing I didn't get was the sides of the VHS tapes making like a maze or something I didn't go too deep into it since it didn't seem important. I did enjoy the game however and I think its worth it for $2 just keep in mind that its a short horror game with mystery behind it https://youtu.be/dePybILQiG4
