About
Cave Hikers is a relaxing and humorous 2D interactive cartoon mockumentary that follows three characters through a cavernous world, on a quest to find the mystical “cave with an infinite ceiling”. The game starts in the hometown of the characters, from which they embark on an exciting adventure of building a catapult and filing paperwork to be fired off further into the unknown parts of their cavernous worlds. Flip the HOPA, reach the topa!
Documentary style - The story is narrated as if the characters are creatures in a nature documentary.
The book of caves - The game comes with a book, both as in-game images and a pdf for printing and reading. The book is wordless and contains sketches of flora and fauna, but it also has recipes for magic potions that will be mixed by the player in the game.
Alchemy - collect some ingredients, mix some potions. shake some test tubes.
Everyone waves at you - Any character you hover with the cursor will wave at the player. It’s a feature never before seen on this scale and was proven to cause delight with everyone ever.

Neat and short, a family friendly experience that flows pretty well. There's a bedtime story vibe, amplified if you play the game with the Croatian voice. Overall a very inoffensive and solid point and click.
Weird but charming experience.

This game was a treasure. It's a puzzle game and a scavenger hunt game and an adorable little whimsical story of the like that you don't see very often. If you want a fun time with just enough slapstick and irreverence to keep you from taking things too seriously, this is definitely your game. The art is adorable, the narrator never skips a beat, and a lot of the puzzles are really clever. Give it a try!
A charming little hidden object and click to do narrative stuff game. Looks nice, sounds nice, very relaxing.
This is such a quirky and fun game, I love the art and the narration! The entire game has a chaotic vibe that I enjoy, it kept me smiling throughout the experience, even when I got confused by puzzles. The only thing I am not a fan of personally are some of the sounds being too loud or uncomfortable to listen to but that could just be my own sensory issues. Overall feels like a game that was fun to work on and it was nice to see where the story went! :)
It's really adorable and fun game, I feel as if David Attenborough is taking me on a cave adventure :)
Really enjoyed this little game. The narrator is really incredible and the puzzles are fun. Art style is really consistent and I loved trying to find all of the cards.
This has been an amazing experience! Everything about this game is either perfect, or very close to! The visual style is amazing, often mesmerizing! Animations are plentiful and they're very fun to interact with. Game design is very creative and often got me to chuckle :) Music and audio effects are excellent, set the mood well and complement the animations really nicely. And last but not least, the English narrator is a treat! At first I thought this was a children's game, and I suppose that is the primary target audience, but I found myself quickly lost in this world, an adult close to 40. So don't let the art style turn you away. If you've ever played Amanita Design's games like Machinarium or Creaks, you'll feel right at home. This game gives very similar vibes. I think the game can improve some of the following to make it an even better experience: * I would love a button to repeat the last subtitle, as it often contains clues I missed on the first listen. * Sometimes the game doesn't save well. I ended up having to re-do a puzzle when relaunching the game * If you could get the game to work in native 4K or higher, I think it would look even better. PS: Played this on Debian Linux using Proton, no issues, everything was smooth and stable.
Just to say right away: my playtime is obviously not realistic. Steam bugged out at kept the game running in the client for a few days. This is a charmling little hidden object / light adventure game. It's presented like a nature documentary and it really gives it a lot of charm. It's fun, music is great, graphics are nice. The only downpoints for me are occasional pixel hunting and checkpoint system that could be more forgiving. Overall, a recommendation.
