Yes its old, can you tab out... no, is the learning curve awful.... yes, does the computer cheat, well, yes. despite all those things its still a lot of fun and I can strongly recommend this game to retro gamers and anyone else looking for a cheap thrill.
This is an old school classic. Yes, the combat is clunky AF. This is pre-dune II grand rts, and in dune II you couldn't select multiple dudes either. I have this for old ass mac as well, and its definitely a more graphically enjoyable game than the DOS version, but if this is all you can play it on, I'd still recommend it. Take the fight to the rest of France, then even take down the pope himself!
An MSDOS classic and a part of my childhood. It's great to be able to play it again. As a kid I always encountered the copy protection that led to a game over, but today that shouldn't be a problem. Since I haven't played it in decades I'll have to do the tutorials first. I'm a big fan of realtime strategies.
Far inferior to castles one. The additional features (regions and intruige) just have you staring at a screen, waiting for progress bars.
This is an old game, but one of my favorites from when I was a kid. It preceeded age of empires, and has much simpler gameplay, but it led to this type of strategy game.
I like building castles
