The graphics to castle Grimholt are good the music is ok, the game took me 30 mins to do so value for money i would say not so i can recommended the game for time play that is all, ut the game is well made
i beat it in 35 minutes....
It's charming aesthetics, decent OST's and incredibly simple combat make for a pure, immersive and challenging gaming experience that I only wish didn't come to an end so soon! 7/10.
Castle Grimholt is all sizzle and no steak. The game feels like it was some college student's final project rather than a full-fledged product fit for sale. I was unprepared for how little content there is in the game - what you see in the trailer and accompanying screenshots is like 90% of the entire game's worth of content. It took less than 1 hour to 'beat' the game which makes the purchase price absurd when considering cost vs. play time. The player character is frustratingly sluggish in both movement and attack speed which always puts you at a disadvantage when fighting enemies. More than anything else, Gastle Grimholt has one element that I absolutely HATE in any boss-rush game - that is, you are forced to make a long, time-consuming trek back to a boss room any time you die. It's not really an exaggeration to say that half (or more) of your playtime will consist of respawning and then walking back to a boss-battle (only to quickly die and repeat the process due to the aforementioned sluggish movement speed). If you can get the game for $1 or less and don't have anything better to do with an hour of your time, then I suppose Castle Grimholt might be worth picking up. However, the clunky mechanics, inability to edit key bindings, and an overall lack of content leave me feeling that even those conditions wouldn't merit a recommendation. On a positive note, the pixel art and music were decent.
Pretty well made game. Very strong visuals and concept, but extremely poor gameplay. It's a boss rush game, but the combat/movement is painfully slow and clunky, all of the bosses are way too simplistic and short. The run back to the boss after you die is often longer than the actual boss fight so dying is just a painfully annoying process. The game is only about 25 minutes long and the only reason it is even that long is because your movement speed is about 25% of what it should be. There is nothing outside of bosses other than small snippets of dialogue. There is no real story. There is just nothing here outside of the visuals to care about. Supposedly there are secret bosses, but the slow movement speed and relatively uninteresting "main" bosses doesn't really incentivise me to look deeper. If this was a 1$ or 50c game it would be worth a light recommendation. But for 8$?! bruh....... You would be much better off just making this a free game, rebrand it as a "prologue" and use the feedback of a wider playerbase to work on a slightly more fleshed out full version of the game actually worth selling.
This game is awesome, graphics are gorgeous. I'm looking forward to more updates where I can fight more bosses and crush them.
Really charming game, bosses are diverse and challenging, can be finished in an evening but I found myself replaying it straight after, and frequent free updates
Sorry, but no. The game is entertaining for what it is but some of the bosses are really annoying (not hard).
I enjoy playing this game. The graphics are good as is the music. Definitely worth the small expense.
