About
Case Kovacs - Agent 228
... is a prelude to the game NoseBound. This very short and intriguing mini game tell the story of Elizabeth Kovacs, the missing woman from the story NoseBound.
Please consider the fact that we made this game mostly to test gameplay mechanics in Unreal Engine, exploring new tools, etc. The gameplay, although still point & click, is very different.
There is a possibility to extend this title onto a fully developed game once NoseBound is released if there's enough interest.

Pretty cool teaser. It's just the introductory level/tutorial for the full thing but it looks really promising. Worth checking out
Before I played Case Kovacs - Agent 228, I had a small pp, no friends, no gf, depression, and no life. These things havent changed, but the game is pretty good
The game has some kind of connection to a bigger plot but it's too short to really be intriguing and has a bit of jank that doesn't make it the smoothest of demos.

controls are atrocious. though I enjoyed everything else. hopefully the controls are fixed in the main game when it's released.
Just found it to be boring.
"Case Kovacs - Agent 228" is isn't a game at all, it's just an ad for Nosebound. Talk about store pollution... Misleading marketing like this is an abuse of the Steam storefront and the "free" category. The product this is advertising, Nosebound is a very mediocre retro point and click adventure where the developers exhumed the corpse of HP Lovecraft to annoy him by misusing his genre to make an "edgy and dark" horror themed mystery puzzle adventure game that would work well on mobile phones but they launched it on PC instead.... but that's not really relevant, because "Case Kovacs - Agent 228" isn't Nosebound, it's just an advert for it! Incorrectly published adverts are harmful.. they take up visibility that should instead be afforded to ethical developers who do the right thing. And it makes it harder for us to find those ethically made games. Valve provides a specific way to handle demos, free trials and advertisments. It is clearly outlined in the Steamworks Documentation for creating Demos... something I would say is mandatory reading before anyone thinks about abusing Steam Direct. This "developer" either didn't responsibly try to understand Steam, or worse, deliberately and wilfully chose to ignore the correct process just to pollute Steam with for-profit advertising. Either way, this is unprofessional and bad for gamers, and here we are, looking at an advert. The purpose behind this advertisement is to convince you to spend $15 USD, your money, on the real product. This is a predatory and misleading abuse of the "Free" section of Steam... and we know there's a proper proccess the developer didn't follow. Avoid this unethically marketed junkware and keep your money. This game is fairly dated at 6 years old... and even back then it looked old and busted compared to contemporary, professionally made 3D games of the same period. It looked bad then, it looks worse now. Now on to pricing and value for gamers. As an advertisement, this is only free in the same way that adverts on Youtube and banner ads in your browser are. This is a game demo that's been dumped on Steam to advertise another Steam store page in the hopes of raking in some cash. Just because advertisements are free, doesn't mean they're worth your time. It's important to understand there's a formal process to create a demo/page for a game which hasn't been followed here: https://partner.steamgames.com/doc/store/application/demos While it might seem like an innocuous mistake, publishing demos and advertisements as if they are full games is misleading and in some ways harmful. This advertisement is taking up marketing space and visibility that would be better made available to a developer that's done the right thing and created a full game. Instead, that visibility is given over to a demo/advert that's been published incorrectly and is polluting the marketplace. It's unclear if this mistake was made through incompetence or a deliberate intent to mislead gamers. Often developers may choose to incorrectly publish demo/advertisements as separate games as a cheap way to bypass paying Valve for marketing presence on the Steam front page, which may seem clever to them, but it's harmful behaviour and it's not good for gamers. Despite having no up-front cost, this failed to appeal to the 130 million+ gamers on Steam. SteamDB shows this peaked at only 9 concurrent players... this is a dismal public reception. This was so bad they couldn't even give it away. Advertisements and incorrectly published demos don't add +1 to your game collector count, they aren't full games. It's impossible for me to recommend this incorrectly published advertising spam to gamers, you deserve better than adverts.
