Not sure what all the hate is for based on other comments I've read but they left me sceptical at first, and I'm honestly glad I decided to give this game a go when it was on 75% steam sale.
This game is actually quite decent. Its definitely not going to cater to casuals that want to press W, or whatever your accel button is to insta-win or level from 1 to 1000 in less than a hour. But, if you like tuning cars and spending hours figuring out why your piece of trash car wont turn into corners, or why your gear shift from 3rd to 4th is to long and you're losing speed, or if your car has 6 gears and you can never get the son of a to reach 6th gear. Well this game caters to those people that will sit, scratch their head and spend time figuring out how to tune things and I can say once you figure it out and you have a beast of a ride, you will fall in love with this game as I have.
A bit of advice though. If you're a casual but want to figure this stuff out just use chatgpt or google AI to help you with the nitty gritty tuning (the game does explain well what each upgrade and custom tune does for those who read). Personally, I've been drilling the C1,C2,C3 and C4 races once I kitted out and figured out the cars and tuned them to their sweet point (you can also just wipe out the AI if you feel so inclined and there is only the cost of some speed or risk that you wipe yourself out). Pro tip though - never play with normal AI difficulty, they seem to be the same on Normal vs Hardest, you just benefit and get more money on hardest when you come 1st which makes the game a lot less grindy I've found. Once you get to C3 Elite races you'll be raking in 30k currency per win and also get some of the sweet gold currency to pimp out more new rides.
And if drifting is your thing, well this game has that in buckets. I've not quite nailed it down just yet but that is the next project to figure out. And hell, turning a game into a fun learning experience which isn't quite realistic but follows some of the realistic bits of car tuning in real life is also part of the fun and learning. I picked this game up for £5 on sale which is a steal and it has already more than paid itself off in gameplay time + learning + overall fun.
Seriously, give it a go, open your mind a little and if you're anything like me, after you start experiencing more success based on the learning etc in the game, it will start growing on you to the point where you dont want to put it down and you question whether you should pull a sick day for work lol.
I will also say that the voices in the game seems like some AI generated nonsense, but based on the overall gameplay I'll overlook that negative on this occasion.
