So I got this game yesterday. Given it a quick try for 30mins, I will play more during the week. Initial Impressions are good. You basically need to work through waves of aliens using a combination of weapons going from one location to another. The graphics and physics are very good, I spent several minutes at the start using a table tennis racket to smash coke cans through an automatic door, probably not the intention of the game but still very enjoyable. The range of weapons are good and the game play is very promising. Personally I would prefer to teleport around the map selecting where I go rather than teleporting to a fixed location. The detailing in the rooms is good however I would like to see more rooms and a more diverse set of aliens to attack. I did seem to be going to and from the same rooms, maybe I need to play this further or this is still to come. I would also like to see some other interactions required, maybe a bit of strategy required, ducking behind things to take cover etc. However the game is a very good looking game with great physics, I look forward to seeing more from this development team. Recommend to those go in all guns blazing enthusiasts and as a game for showing off VR to your friends for the first time. I will be playing more and hope to see what else is yet to come.
Honestly, for $1 it's well worth a bit of time. Simple, but relatively functional game, also has fairly good graphics & sound. This feels like a demo sort of title for VR as a medium, easy to understand and try. I'd rather show someone something like Space Pirate Trainer, but this would be a fantastic budget alternative. I've seen worse games for way more.
Just tried the game I got for free from the dev, nice graphism and ambiance. Good concept on the weapon switch and scanner. The difficulty is increasing over time per the size of the monster waves. Can be nice to showcase VR to the newcomers. Nevertheless it is highly repetitive after 20 minutes since it's only a switch between 5-6 room populated with 5 type of monsters. In the current stage of replayability/map-monster-weapon-diveristy/price (13/10/2017, v1.0), I do not recommend the purchase yet. (I have played more than 100 vr games over viveport/steam)
Purchased at $0.99, I Shouldn't Complain, But Will Anyways For 99 cents, it is a fun little pick-me-up. It looks like a rogue-like shooter that unfortunately has only teleport and snap turning. The cooridors are fairly generic, but get the job done nicely; the same can be said about the enemies. The variability you can get in weapons just by how the controllers are held is a neat idea, and effectively implemented. Also, having my 'VR Legs' makes me wish for smooth locomotion/turning, although having a 3-sensor set-up for the Rift allows me to by-pass the snap turning. The overall atmosphere not only reminds me of Doom, but of Dead Effect 2 VR as well, and the weapons you can use cover such films as Aliens (2-handed pulse rifle), and Ghostbusters (well, I think so). Again, for 99 cents, you can't go wrong, but I wish for better movement controls. I wouldn't have bought it for $9.99
If this game were any more than $1.50 I would have said you should take a hard pass. Small environment, few enemy types and absolutely no settings/config at all. But at such a low price, with actual decent graphics, textures, sound design and quite an interesting gun game play mechanic, I have to say I recommend it. Even the starting lobby has some very nice touches. You might not play it long, but if you want to expand your VR library then you could (and I have) do a lot worse with a buck-fiddy than this. If they released this with a proper campaign, actual movement and customizable settings (ala Dead Effect 2) then I'd definitely consider buying it for real money.
Too expensive. If you can get it on sale or in a bundle might keep you entertained for an hour. Overall graphics were good and mood was scary as it was in the dark.
DEVS: Remove the suicide prompt please. THis game was fun enough (though a little repetitive) until you are forced to play with a huge green prompt in front of your face (that won't go away) to hold both grip buttons to die. It becomes the only thing you can do. What a stupid f£%&ng way to end the game.
Ok, so I got in touch with the dev and he gave me the product provided that I do a review. I got sidetracked with my real life, so it slipped my mind untill I remembered this morning driving on my way to work. Ok, I'll fufill my end of the bargen. Now my honest review. Overall, I have to give this game an 8/10. Why 8/10? Simple..... The mechanics. The game mechanics are absolutely amazing. moving your sidearms around in different configurations makes a brand new firearm!!!! Crazy cool right there! A bit difficult to understand at first, as it's not natural, (I kept disengaging my machinegun by accident) Ive owned VR for quite awhile and this is in my top 5 to recommend to people. The atmosphere keeps you on the edge, the creatures are hidden an pop out of nowhere. I do have to say that the little charging suckers are a bit on the strong side, but that just makes the game even more challenging! So I'll move onto the cons (in my opinion anyway) For me I like moving freely. Being stuck in one spot for me gets a bit annoying, but thats just my opinion. This game, you teleport to a pre-set location. I found it hard to plan my next steps (that part is kind of fun though...) And thats my cons. That's all of em. This game is creepy, challenging and above all, fun. I recommend this game if you want a new experience. This game stands apart. Got my heartrate up, and that right there is a feat all on it's own. (Ive played Don't Knock Twice without alot of heartrate jumps. I am a bit of a horror VR junkie) Congrats to the dev! Keep up the amazing work!!!
Absolutely great experience! I usually use my Vive these days to let others experience VR for the first time, and Cargo Breach is a hoot. Nothing is better than letting my friends start off with Job Simulator, then popping them into this and watching them lunge backwards into a couch when an alien mosquito dives for their head. The choice to give the rest of us a view of a radar and HMD POV from a tv is great touch too. I would buy this if you frequently have others try your headset.
