Lovely Game

It's a cute, entertainment, and goofy little game with a lot of heart. While the writing is pretty fun, the voice over is great!

The gameplay is so simple, it’s literally just collecting cards and then choosing which one(s) to play in different scenarios, but it’s so funny and well done. First thing I did was make my horse drunk. Sometimes I’d choose a card thinking it would cause one thing to happen, and instead I’d end up accidentally killing someone. At one point, I was lugging around a dead horse for almost an entire game because I kept trying so hard to offload it, and it kept not working because the game treats any card with the word “horse” in it as a normal horse, so I was making great escapes and giving people rides on my dead horse, which just made it even funnier. There is a goal, a way to win, but it’s just as fun to lose. You’re going to want to play multiple times anyway to see more outrageous events and card outcomes. It has a cute little art style. I love how everything in the game looks, from the cards to the map to the little 3D art for each event. I also love how you can see your little party trailing along behind you as you walk from place to place on the map, and it even changes to match whether you have a horse or not. This $2.99 Steam version has some extra events, a card tracker, and voiceover. Having played both, I can say I like having a few extra events and a card tracker, and the game is worth paying for. I got about 4 hours of fun out of it. Not accessible for blind players or screen reader users though, as you must be able to see the screen for everything else.

The game can take less than 3 mins to beat. With the price of 3.39, I would say that I got my fun out of it and I enjoyed it. The Good The art style is good. It’s cartoony with a nice filter on top of everything. The game has good game design and is kind of weird, I like that. For example, if something happens to someone who follows you, they still follow you. The game was simple to understand. The games menu was simple and clean. There’s voice over. Even though the voice will stop and pause to say a unique item, breaking the flow of the speaker, it was still cool to see. Even though the choices get repetitive, there are a couple of cards that you can use to change the outcome of your decision. There’s a collection feature where you can see all the cards in the game. But it only shows the ones that you have seen in the game, the others are greyed out. The game can be played with just a mouse. The Bad The game is very repetitive. No settings option No way to know the controls before you play the game. Like, there are fast forward keys. And these fast forward keys make a scratching noise that I don’t like. Cards require upgrading to add to your collection. This can take a long time to do cause there are so many cards and places to visit, where you can hurt by chance and then die. I’m personally not interested in going through all that work, just to get 100%. Conclusion The game is short and fun to play.

Well written and fully voiced little storytelling card-collecting game. It ain't about the destination, it's about the talking rattlesnakes and horses that walk on their hind legs you met along the way.

Very short but very charming little game. I would kind of like to see a more expanded or refined version of the game, maybe even a sequel, but for the $3 price tag it's still worth playing.

A fun take on choose-your-own adventure gameplay. Not a lot of mechanical depth, but it's charm comes from the silly combinations of cards.

Cute little and short game. 20 min of gameplay; charming but nothing mind blowing. In fact its so short you can finish it and ask for a refund if you feel it's not worth it; I won't because, for the price tag, it was worth it.
