Calcio 98 is a single-player football management game starting in the 1998/99 season. Created by passionate fans of the genre’s great classics and inspired in particular by the spirit of PC Calcio 7, it brings deep, hands-on club management back to life through tactics, transfers, training, finances and match-day decisions.

Build a lasting career

Compete in a football world featuring 18 leagues and 14 cup competitions. Play through complete seasons, fight for trophies and qualification, experience promotion and relegation, and continue your career as the game world advances into the following season.

Manage every aspect of your club

• Choose your formation, starting eleven and tactical approach.

• Manage transfers, negotiations, contracts and loans.

• Train your squad and deal with injuries, fitness and morale.

• Handle club finances, budgets, facilities and board expectations.

• Review calendars, league tables, results, statistics and cup brackets.

• Save your career in 10 local slots synchronized through Steam Cloud.

Experience match day

Follow each fixture through the match simulation engine and react as events unfold. Make substitutions and tactical changes during match intervals while monitoring goals, cards, injuries, assists, possession and individual performances.

Experimental 3D match preview

The Early Access version also includes a separate experimental 3D match preview, available from the main menu to collect player feedback.

This preview is not currently integrated into the management career. It is intended to experiment with playable matches and help guide their potential future development.

Early Access

We expect Early Access to last approximately 6–12 months, with monthly updates and urgent hotfixes when required. Features, balancing and data formats may change during development, and some updates may require starting a new career.

Calcio 98 currently supports single-player gameplay on Windows with mouse and keyboard. Online play, controller support, Steam achievements and declared Steam Deck compatibility are not currently included.

Customize the game world

You can customize the names of clubs, competitions, coaches and players by importing simple spreadsheets in XLSX format. These customizations remain on the user’s device and are not provided or verified by the developer.
