One of the best and funniest VR experiences! The PSVR2 Adaptive Trigger support is fantastic! It makes the weapons so much fun to handle! We need more developers like this!!! :)
Is Cactus Cowboy - Desert Warfare a good game? Yes. The developer is getting better and better. I did Cactus 3 Fully Loaded and Plants At War. And they were all fun, I had a good time. The solo developer is gettting better and better. The additional free missions were a nice addition. BUT cause there's a but, where's the shotguns? When you do an fps you need shotguns. Where's the rocket launcher? We only have a grenade launcher. And even the enemies and our Cacti allies use rocket launchers. Where's the grenades from Plants at War? It could have been the best Cacti game but it isn't because of that. I got it on sale and I had a blast though. I know Plants At War is supposed to be World At War and Desert Warfare is Modern Warfare. And they do that really well, the characters and all. But I kinda miss the sense of adventure from Cactus 3 Fully Loaded. And the platform sections and crazy bosses. And also the gameplay was more like Serious Sam. But that's me. But please next time shotgun please. Overall, Desert Warfare is more polished, it's more scripted like Call of Duty but the fun is here, the jokes are still here and it's fun. The upgrades are almost useless but nice addition anyway. I feel like the solo dev wanted absolutely that we use the new stuff hhe learned to do and didn't put back the rest for some reason, that he already knew how to do. I'm glad he's starting getting money from his work though. And ugh I recommend and I also recommend that you check Cactus 3 and Plants At War. Be wary that Desert Warfare the easiest of them three and you will definitely more likely finish this one than 3. I don't have motion sickness so I finish them all. Anyway , I'm talking too much. Have fun
It's honestly pretty good. Gets the core of the game right: Guns are fun to handle and use on the numerous squishy bugs that are there to shoot.
Great Game.
i need to say that from all the games in the series that this is the best game its a great folow up from the last game 9/10 would play again
this game is one of the best vr war games ive ever played, REALLY recommend this
playing this with katwalk and bhaptics feels good. there are good enough variations of guns though u will quickly settled for like 2 or 3 of them. I like smg for close combat and rifle to snipe long range. I tried to use the grenade launcher too but always miss the time for them unless it's a requirement to use it. There are lots of enemies to fight too. There is abit of story and some cringe humor (that is even more cringe because they talked in a plain tone) the bad is, if u're still newbie in vr and not having good vr legs, this would quickly induce nausea. I think the way it walk or turn (or even jump) is not so good. Getting items (like weapons, ammo, etc) is bad too. There's a kinda like gravity glove like in alyx but implemented in a not so good way that sometimes I feel it's better to crouch and get the items myself rather than wasting time trying to get it with gravity glove. It feels like a good game, but I dont know. At the time of this review, it said 2.8 hours, but I feel like I have played this at least 6 hours, and I just couldnt wait to finish the game soon and move on. I think the gravity glove problem adds in the nausea problem making it much worse than it should have been. still recommended it though. Even though I dont enjoy it as much as I though I should, I still think this is a good game.
