A game about a witch that has to go for a trial and was burned, but she gets a second chance to make things right by some sort of entity that can turn back time. The control is using keyboards mainly, and the aim is to find clues to prove your innocence and find the persons responsible for the happenings in the game, after the entity has rewind time for you. The game is mainly interacting with people and looking for clues, with minimal puzzle that involves you searching for items needed to unlock certain doors, and there is also the trial in which you need to provide correct clues to win the trial. At one point in the game there is a stealth mode as well as a fighting mode, which can get a bit annoying at certain times if you don't know what to do, but mostly easy i guess
the part at the second chef scene had me stressed cuz i kept getting caught be the moving chef, and the field of vision is not really obvious in the dark scene so it's hard to see where i'm supposed to hide to avoid getting caught
Artwork is cute and the colors fit the theme of the game nicely, though the game does have elements of gore a bit but it's not really shown in an explicit manner
like there is image of a person hanging, and several people shown being tortured such as stretching and the head impaled on a pole, and of course there's lots of blood cuz of the ritual
Sound is ok, though i think there is only few musics in the whole game, but nice enough, i like the music in the hospital at the beginning of the game. Story wise it's quite good and interesting, though the ending is a bit open-ended. The story has their own lores and myths which is fun to read. There are several bugs in the game, which at 1-2 points in the game i have to restart the whole game which is a bit frustrating, but the game is free and the story is good so it's ok
my bugs is that, when igot caught by the guards in the garden, it just froze and i can't do anything at all, another one is that after i slept to change the time from crescent to collapse, the game makes me redo all the things i've already done and had to collect clues again
Overall good game, worth your time except for the bugs, so just hope you don't encounter it XD 9.5/10
cute and fun little puzzle game.
Burn Me Twice is a low key asset flip, a bunch of other people's assets assembled badly to make a basic game, typically this kind of thing is done by amateur developers without sufficient budget, talent and/or staff to do the job of game development professionally. It's then quickly rushed into Steam Direct. And, unsurprisingly, this never results in a product with any quality, interest, or value for gamers. This is just a bunch of Synty assets dumped around a basic adventure game template. Some effort went into building a real game out of other people's assets, and they're not trying to get your money for Synty's asset packs, but it's still somewhat offensive to see asset flips like this on Steam when there's so many genuine creators out there. The game itself, while having a promising narrative, boils down to a lot of fetch quests and simplistic puzzles, it's not engaging, it's not long, it is buggy, and once more.... Synty asset flip. Whenever you see a Synty asset pack on Steam, you know you're gonna have a bad time. So, the game might look better than you'd expect from an amateur project, but this is because it's partially or completely made up of stock assets, "borrowed" from asset stores and free asset websites. Very little in this game is truly the creation of the "developer", it's just a bunch of rearranged assets. While there's no up front price for this asset flip, the other problem with asset flips is that when developers aren't capable of doing their job and creating high quality assets, it's also true they can't do any of the rest of the job of a game developer either. That's definitely true for "Burn Me Twice". This game is fairly dated at 5 years old... it's showing a bit of age and won't give you a very up-to-date gaming experience. This is "free" enough, at least you won't be expected to spend any more money after you download this, but just because something is free doesn't mean it's good. Despite having no up-front cost, this failed to appeal to the 120 million+ gamers on Steam. SteamDB showed the game peaked at just a dozen or so concurrent players, and now there's basically nobody playing it. Even though it's free. This is a dismal public reception, but it's easy to see why gamers rejected it. Bearing in mind that free games don't add +1 to your game collector count, should you bother adding this to your library and downloading it? Not this time. This isn't worth downloading. While this won't cost you any money, you get what you pay for, and sometimes, even when the game is free, it's still not enough.
very cool game, is insane that it is free, some stuff is hard to do because of the 3D aspect but tbh its not that bad, the word is very pretty and the style is charming <3
