It’s a very good game. I laughed a lot with some friends—it was very fun and chaotic. That said, almost all of us agreed on one thing: it’s difficult to maneuver or control the shopping cart. At the time I’m writing this review, there are only 3 different control options (for controllers), and it’s not a big issue—we would just like the cart to always face forward. Like the brawlers in Brawl Stars, or Frisk from Undertale, who turn in the direction the joystick is pointing. Aside from that, 9/10—an amazing game.
Best game I’ve ever played. Better than Elden Ring and Expedition 33. Sold my ps5 so I could buy even more copies of this game. Highly recommend.
Great party game with a unique core gameplay loop that has lots of customization and variation to be a fun staple in the party night collection! My only note is with keyboard and mouse the only controls I find usable is the “racing” mode. Having to use the other way in the tutorial was confusing and haven’t touched that mode besides it making me do so in tutorial.
BrawlMart, developed by Red Basket Games and published by PlayWay S.A., is a lively, physics-driven party game that builds its identity around chaos, spontaneity, and the unpredictable nature of multiplayer competition. It takes a simple idea—players controlling shopping carts in a supermarket setting—and transforms it into a constantly shifting series of challenges where precision often gives way to improvisation. Rather than striving for balance or competitive rigor, the game leans into its own unpredictability, making each match feel like a mix of skill, luck, and quick reactions. The core of the experience lies in its collection of minigames, each presenting a different objective or twist on the supermarket theme. These scenarios range from item collection and delivery challenges to survival rounds filled with environmental hazards and shifting rules. What keeps the gameplay engaging is how frequently these rules change, sometimes even within the same session, forcing players to adapt on the fly. The variety ensures that matches rarely feel identical, and the constant transitions between objectives create a sense of momentum that keeps players engaged, especially in a group setting. Movement and interaction are governed by a deliberately loose physics system, which is both the game’s defining strength and its most noticeable limitation. Steering a shopping cart is intentionally unwieldy, turning even simple actions into unpredictable outcomes. Collisions between players, obstacles, and the environment often lead to unexpected results, creating moments that are as frustrating as they are entertaining. This lack of precision is clearly by design, encouraging players to embrace the chaos rather than fight against it. When played with others, these moments often become the highlight of the experience, generating humor and shared reactions that are central to the game’s appeal. Multiplayer is where BrawlMart truly comes to life. Whether played locally or online, the game thrives on interaction between players, with each match becoming a dynamic and often unpredictable exchange of actions and reactions. The design ensures that even less experienced players can remain competitive, as the physics and randomness level the playing field to some extent. While solo play is available, it lacks the energy and variability that human opponents bring, making it feel more like a way to familiarize yourself with the mechanics rather than a fully engaging mode. The game also includes customization options and additional features that extend its replayability. Players can personalize their carts, adding a light layer of identity to each match, while the inclusion of user-generated content tools allows for the creation of new levels and scenarios. This community-driven aspect adds longevity, as it introduces new challenges and variations beyond the base game. It’s a fitting addition for a title built around variety and unpredictability, giving players the tools to expand the experience in their own way. Visually, the game adopts a bright, stylized look that complements its playful tone. The environments are colorful and easy to read, ensuring that players can quickly identify objectives and hazards even during chaotic moments. Animations are exaggerated in a way that enhances the comedic effect of the physics system, reinforcing the game’s lighthearted approach. The audio design supports this with energetic sound effects and music that maintain a lively atmosphere without becoming overwhelming. Despite its strengths, BrawlMart does face some challenges in maintaining long-term engagement. The core gameplay loop, while entertaining, doesn’t evolve significantly over time, and extended play sessions can begin to feel repetitive. The reliance on physics-based mechanics can also lead to moments where outcomes feel less like the result of player skill and more like chance, which may not appeal to everyone. These factors make the game best suited for shorter sessions, where its chaotic nature remains fresh and enjoyable. In the end, BrawlMart is a game that succeeds by fully embracing its identity as a party experience. It doesn’t aim to be precise, balanced, or deeply strategic—instead, it focuses on creating moments of shared fun through unpredictability and interaction. For players looking for a casual, multiplayer-focused game that prioritizes entertainment over competition, it delivers exactly what it promises. While it may not offer lasting depth, it provides plenty of memorable moments in the right setting. Rating: 8/10
me descargue este juego por la skin de Teto y fue peak, recomiendo jugarlo escuchando Teto de fondo
hehe, cart zoomies then go boom
Сначала немного сомневалась, но благодаря Крису смогла решиться рискнуть. Хоть управление местами будто подводит, но вместе с друзьями - получается шикарный вечер. Буду играть ещё!
