I got this game for the summer sale for 35 and it is, imo, worth that price.
The Good, They did exactly what I personally wanted them to do with this entry, make a semi-decent story and have crazy fun gun fights. The gun fights in this entry especially, are incredibly fun, popping heads with a jacobs sniper rifle is my love language. The builds are also fun and unique as well. originally i used an onslaughter build with amon, popping a shotgun blast in between each punch, and then moved to an unlimited ammo ordinance (this games heavy weapons/ grenades skill cooldown) and it completely wrecks. The endgame content is really challenging and fun too, tweaking builds to eek out just a little bit more damage to clear the invincible bosses was pretty fun. Plus the Abyss takedown was probably my favorite bit of content, and it makes me want more challenges like it. The takedown makes me think this game could do really well with a procedurally generated dungeon system like maps from POE2.
The Bad, The performance is absolute dog, it takes every bit of my pc's power to get 60 fps at "best" graphics settings, turns my pc into a space heater too to run it at that level which shouldn't be the case. In the end I turned the graphics to medium and locked the frames at 60 to keep everything cool and stable. Gameplay wise, the open world could be good, but really is unnecessary imo. Traveling should be fun in an open world, and this game's travel is so boring, everytime I saw an objective was more than 1k away I would feel dejected. Also, I honestly have no clue why the digirunner has weapons, because the bullets it shoots feel like bb's and the rockets are like firecrackers. These are just some of my main gripes
All in all, I think it was worth the price point I bought it at, its not perfect, but it is ultimately fun. The story did exactly what it needed to, get me from fire fight to fire fight. The gameplay is great and honestly carries the experience for me, I was always itching to find more stuff to shoot. The performance is rough, there's no getting around that, just make sure your pc can run this before purchase. Final score for me would be a 6.5-7/ 10
