Normally the Editor would be paid, however since multiplayer has not been implemented we are allowing free access until we release the multiplayer update. You can buy the Editor early to support us, but note that it does not unlock additional features at this time. Not very user friendly. No instructions in the app on how to use it. Could get nothing done. Even without instructions one should be able to figure out what to do but I could not.
I'm afraid I'll have to agree with the other two. A tutorial for how to use the engine would be nice.

It's been almost a year since I purchased this and not one single update has been made. The program is impossible to use, even for something like creating cards. I can't import any pawns, cards, models, nothing. Waste of money.
This game is very much early in its development stage so it's pretty much non-functional. Honestly, there's nothing useful that can be done with this engine at this time. So, I can't say that I 'recommend' this game to anyone yet. However, I've seen the roadmap and it looks very promising. I'll be following this for future releases.

unfinished and bad
It appears that you have to create all objects external and pick them from folders. But all in all it is not even far described what to do and how. No tutorial what so ever, if you want to start you have to trial and error with the "options" wich are also very limited if not absend at all! The sad thing here is, that this is litterally a wasted potential of something that could have been great - IF it would have been user-friendly but it sure just isn´t and it also seems like it will never become hence the lack of further development - so it seems... So do you want to buy it? NOPE definitily not, if you on the other hand REALLY want to give it a try, grab the free to use version , BUT bring a lot of time and PATIENCE, or you will not be happy with this software - like I mentioned, you need exterial software like paint or similar.... Havn´t tryed things like blender for eventually creating 3D-pawns (at least in the options to pick a data-formate their has been the option to choose .mdl and .obj datafiles...) Based on all mentioned above, I cannot recomment this software, even if it is for free; not worth the time especially not worth a dime!
Before I played Board Game Engine, I had a small pp, no friends, no gf, depression, and no life. These things havent changed, but the game is pretty good
