Rayne made me have a crush on redheads! The bloodrayne series got me hooked on gaming and they hold a really dear place in my heart. I can't believe this franchise didn't continue. It's legacy of kain plus tomb raider. Elite programming!
Well what to say. I have no idea why this is the last one. They where improving the game, and they even had movie in the work. Hell, in the end, they had more movies then games! It did have wonky-ness, but feels like if a third one came out, they would have perfected it. Yet here I am, looking at death. Anyway, you know a game is quality, when it was released on Steam, before Steam stopped its auditing on releases. Only problem, as with all old games, are problems while running. Combine it with the fact it was console focused game, well this song and dance are common in the PC space. Easy to find a fix luckily. As for game-play, look up "The Triumph of Death" art piece, and you are the skeleton on the horse.
Powiem tak sama gra jest fajna miałem okazję grać w nią jak i w pierwszą część gry. Sama fabuła jak i klimat i muzyka odgrywają tutaj w obu grach niesamowity klimat. Istny klasyk 10/10 Polecam :D
Comparing this to the original, the improved graphics, the sexier designs and the more tactical combat make the game seem a better product. The illusion quickly fades as you start playing. The graphics are still boxy and rigid, and the advanced combat is eye candy. Low tier enemies can easily block your attacks and Rayne, who should be a Dhampir seems to be made out of glass, easily killed by mooks. The game is littered with cut-scenes, the plot is there but it is not very interesting. Save points are terrible. There is a system of checkpoints between save points which should help you out as you complete tedious bits but they are not directly before bosses and sometimes force you to repeat cut-scenes. Unless you find a save point you cannot stop and take a break from this frustrating mess since checkpoints are only active while in game. The action is a tedious repetition of operations which get frustratingly harder. It consists of throwing mooks at something with your hook. This repetition continues escalating until you have to throw hundred mooks while fighting invincible bosses. Meanwhile your upgrades are pointless, since everyone around you becomes as strong as a boss while your hits have little to no effect. In later stages of the game there is no way to recover health and your rage and ammo are expended too quickly while boss like enemies spawn infinitely. The guns are a cool idea but using them is at times a hindrance (enemies close distance too fast and Rayne auto aims at close explosives blowing herself up in the process). The jumping/acrobatic parts are bugged with Rayne jumping off to a random direction, forcing you to start all over. I forced myself to play because of my OCD and still had to give up before completion.
Un buen clásico.
A few annoying bugs where I was randomly plunged into darkness for no particularly reason. But I lean towards the thumbs up, because the entertainment value is otherwise good. Some of the comments Bloodrayne says in this cracks me up!
I love eliminating aberrant miscreants.
