Level design is good, I guess, but I can't get over the fact that a simple game like this could perform so badly- performance-wise and physics-wise it's absolutely terrible. Definitely not worth buying at full price unless North Star updates the hell out of this game. But for the moment, re-playability is 0
Blocksplode is a casual physics based puzzle game, place your dynamite in a strategic place and watch the destruction unfold. The more blocks end up under water the higher your score. You can play the single player campaign by yourself or play multiplayer with friends. An editor is included. It's enjoyable for playing a few levels at a time. There are a lot of levels and because the game keeps track of your best scores you could go back and improve your scores once you have a better understanding of the game physics.

I have a small amount of time in the game, mostly cut my playtime short due to how demanding it is on my pc. I have fairly decent pc specs, but this game chugs pretty hard with all the post processing and physics effects. I'm not sure if poor perfroamnce will affect the phsycis in game, but the game ran fine-ish for me, it just beat up my gpu and cpu pretty hard. you basically have a map depicted by a tower, and you choose which levels to go to based on this map. i oplayed about 15 levels or so, you get branching options to unlock keys - but at this point I had been stressing the performance, and c=decided ot call it a day. you place explosives, and your goal is to usually knock certain blocks and/or characters into the water, getting a certain % under the water will clear the level. they mix it up by adding things you CANNOT let touch the water, and some rube-goldberg-esque puzzles where you need to topple a tower to safely deposit a gem , while also knocing down all the funny lil characters in the water. it starts very easy, but the difficulty ramps up around the 10-15 level marks., if you like detonation sims, or games such as angry birds ( with a twist on the forumla ) you may enjoy this. you might have to knock the graphics down a bit,. however.
Its a fun little game that allows you to explode things, even with friends. It isn't perfect though, the sound effects (especially the UI sounds) are pretty bad, the music is meh, the UI of the game feels a lot like a mobile game (which it probably is) and the game isn't very helpful in showing you how powerful items are. I would've liked it more if the tnt you start with was a bit better against the blocks you deal with, or that you only sink the blue things to get through the levels. The game would also benefit from a bit of a speedup during phases and quicker switching between levels (why do I have to go back to the menu to select) Overall its a pretty basic game that is probably ported from mobile. But its ideal for clicking during a boring meeting or whatever. Just don't expect too much of it. 13 euros is a bit much, I think 5 bucks should fit it a bit more but it feels more like a mobile game you buy for like 2 bucks. It aint special but it also isn't that bad. Only get now when you really like to blow things up.
Nice concept, but brought down by the irritating sound effects, and the resetting of the explosives after each failed attempt, making it impossible to gradually adjust until perfect. It leaves you in a position of trying to establish whether you were close and should keep trying, or guess a new location. This guessing gets dull quickly.
More annoying than challenging. It eventually ends up as a game where you're just guessing.
Angry Bird Wit Bombs N Blocks. Angry Blocks. Fun!
An interesting set of physics challenges. Some levels can frustrate, especially the ones involving keeping green gems out of the water. Specific levels require inch-perfect bomb placement in a specific order which can take a lot of repitition and sticktoitiveness. Bombs explode spectacularly but with limited impact on damage inflicted, which is rather disappointing. Good mix of rewarding challenges, some instantly repeatable, others you will never want to see again after completing. Soundtrack has some awesome music going but also some not so inspired, not varied enough I think. Currently stuck at the tile-matching level, which is simply hate-inducing, pure guesswork without a photographic memory. Will attack it with a video camera after typing this review. Generally enjoyed the game to be honest. Ecellent time passer and brain engager.
