11/10 Great game to play with friends! I love the zombie mode.
My kids love this game so much they chose it for the first episode of their new youtube channel! https://youtu.be/WySWQQ8HxYI

Didn't expect this to amount to much, but was drawn in by the colours and block graphics as I'm a big fan of this style of graphics. Man, was I wrong about this game! 43 minutes in and we are still going strong, the best part is the zombie survival basketball, not laughed so much in a long time. I really hope this game gets some more work done to it as it looks like it could amount to a real cracker. Only bug we found was once on a game against each other the ball dropped beyond the screen, but you know what, we just went ahead and started another game and we were back to laughing our heads of again. Good, old fashioned madness with great graphics, quick and easy to learn gameplay. I really, really hope this is a big game as it holds a ton of potential. I can't wait for a couple more mates to come round and we can have some 4 player madness trying to score a basket whilst also trying to launch a rocket at each other all the while dodging zombies. Great game, keep this going! PLEASE!!! All this really needs now is a thumping mad soundtrack and it will literally be total zombie, basketball, rocket madness! LOL
This was fun with many friends. we had laughs and spills. you will like it with your friends also.
Blockpocalypse is a small-scale but energetic multiplayer-focused platformer developed and published by dimeStudios that embraces chaos, humor, and social play over structured progression or narrative depth. Framed around an exaggerated end-of-the-world scenario, the game drops players into a series of compact arenas where survival depends less on careful planning and more on adaptability, reflexes, and how well—or poorly—you interact with other players on screen. From the outset, it is clear that Blockpocalypse is designed as a party game first and foremost, prioritizing spontaneous fun and unpredictable outcomes. The gameplay centers on 2D platforming mechanics that are intentionally simple but highly reactive. Players jump, climb, shove, and scramble across stages filled with collapsing platforms, shifting blocks, environmental hazards, and interactive objects. Physics play a major role in how matches unfold, often leading to unexpected chain reactions where one player’s movement can dramatically alter the landscape for everyone else. This creates a constant sense of instability, where even a seemingly safe position can quickly become dangerous as the environment changes beneath your feet. What gives Blockpocalypse its strongest identity is its emphasis on multiplayer interaction. Supporting up to four players via local play or Steam’s Remote Play Together, the game thrives when experienced with friends. Multiple modes offer different objectives, ranging from survival-based challenges to competitive rule sets where players fight for dominance, control zones, or simply try to be the last one standing. These modes encourage a mix of cooperation and betrayal, as alliances form and dissolve in seconds depending on who has the advantage. The result is a flow of matches that feel fresh even when played repeatedly, thanks to the emergent behavior that arises from human interaction. Visually, Blockpocalypse adopts a retro pixel-art aesthetic that fits its arcade sensibilities. Characters are stylized and often absurd, leaning into exaggerated designs that enhance the game’s comedic tone. Environments are colorful but deliberately minimal, ensuring that hazards and platforms remain easy to read even during frantic moments. Animations are simple yet expressive, conveying momentum and impact without unnecessary detail. The presentation may be modest, but it is well-aligned with the game’s goals of clarity and fast-paced action. Sound design and music are used sparingly but effectively. Audio cues help signal danger, movement, and successful maneuvers, reinforcing the physicality of the gameplay. The soundtrack keeps energy levels high without becoming distracting, complementing the short, intense nature of matches. Together, the audiovisual elements support quick sessions that are easy to jump into and just as easy to repeat. Blockpocalypse does show its limitations outside of group play. While solo sessions are possible, the experience clearly shines brightest when multiple players are involved. Without the unpredictability of human opponents or teammates, the mechanics can feel thin, and the lack of a structured single-player campaign or progression system means long-term engagement relies almost entirely on social replayability. Additionally, its early access origins and small scope may leave players wanting more variety or refinement over time. Ultimately, Blockpocalypse succeeds by committing fully to its role as a chaotic party platformer. It doesn’t attempt to compete with larger, more content-rich titles, instead carving out a niche where fast rounds, laughter, and sudden reversals of fortune define the experience. For players looking for a lighthearted multiplayer game that thrives on disorder and shared moments, Blockpocalypse offers a compact but memorable dose of pixelated mayhem that is best enjoyed in good company.
