Bleeding Metal Rainbow

Bleeding Metal Rainbow is a really interesting little game with a fun narrative hook for what is ultimately a single boss fight. The game unfortunately requires you to button mash pretty fast if you want the best odds of beating the boss, but aside from that learning the patterns is a simple experience. It's short sweet, and deserves a quick look if you are into simple and short games

I thought I was too weak and slow to play this game but then I was Alive. Don't give up!

amazing trailer, amazing backstory, amazing gameplay. 100% achievements in 22 minutes. yet my hands hurt from the intensity, which was well worth the one full USD.

I love this company on the 3DS, originally got The Queen TV Game 2 for $0.02 and from there I proceeded to buy the rest of the games on 3DS and steam (so far). I hope they make more microgames and look forward to the next projects. Solid 8/10 for difficulty and lore alone.

[/url] [/h1] There is nothing really wrong with this game, that makes me not want to recommend it, however there is also no stand-out reason to really even play Bleeding Metal Rainbow, other than less than 30 minutes of a nice little experience. There is no plot or real narrative with the exception of singular humorous sentences and a longer text in the beginning clueing the player in as to what this game should represent, only one single level and enemy (That can - if played with a Controller and done right - be conquered in less than 30 seconds most of the time) and 7 Achievements, that - thanks to Steam's 'Learning'-feature will not count towards your global Achievement count, the same way that the game itself won't count towards the Game Collector stats. This is also not a bulk-Achievement game, nor a game that you can (at the moment) complete simply for your Average Achievement Percentage, or something that you could come back to time and time again. Neither does Bleeding Metal Rainbow offer anything more to the player than a bit of mediocre - yet fun - gameplay, a halfway decent learning curve and enjoyable, while repetitive and monotone music in the background. Given a successor with more and more challenging Achievements that count towards the global statistics, more level and enemy variety, better music and at least a bit of engaging narrative I think it has potential, however as of right now, I don't really see any reason to buy and play this title.

Let's keep this short and sweet, just like the game itself. Overall great concept but ultimately falls flat due to it's brevity. The game is begging for expansion with every aspect of it. Imagine an architect drew out the plans for a building and had the land surveyed and readied for the start of construction but only the foundation was laid out and the project was abandoned....there is so much potential here. Keep at it Butterfly, I foresee a bright future for you.

Bleeding Metal Rainbow ist ein kleines Bullet-Hell-Spiel, das nur aus einem einzigen Bosskampf und ein paar humorvollen Zeilen besteht. Offenbar gefällt das Erlebnis anderen Reviewern durchaus. Ich dagegen konnte dem Spiel nichts abgewinnen und ich war nach weniger als 5 Minuten nicht mehr gewillt weiterzuspielen. Dabei kam mir sicher nicht entgegen, dass ich mit Bullet-Hell-Spielen generell nicht allzu viel anfangen kann. Auch hier war dieser eine Boss einfach zu knifflig für mich. Wäre es mit ein bisschen Geduld schaffbar gewesen? Vermutlich ja. Aber warum sollte ich mir das antun? Denn auf der Haben-Seite sehe ich eigentlich nichts, was irgendwie attraktiv ist. Im Gegenteil, das Ganze hat auch noch eine Grafik, die wortwörtlich in den Augen weh tut. Und ein Spiel, das nicht einmal eine Exit-Möglichkeit kennt abgesehen von Alt-F4, ist für mich heutzutage einfach ein No-Go. Fazit: Wer ein grosser Bullet-Hell-Fan ist, der mag diesem Kleinprojekt vielleicht etwas abgewinnen können. Alle anderen sollten die Finger davon lassen.
