I hope they will update this game soon
EN: BLEACH Rebirth of Souls — Review This is a fighting game that took me only twenty minutes to buy, play, and refund. As a long-running IP that has remained highly relevant in Japan for years, BLEACH has proven its status through merchandise, renewed anime projects, and the recent return of the Thousand-Year Blood War arc. That is exactly why the actual experience of this game feels so disappointing. I will leave the soundtrack aside for now. Licensing issues, rearrangements, and the need to fit a modern game atmosphere all make that topic more complicated. The real problem lies in the combat experience and the overall feel of playing the game. The game promotes itself as a high-speed fighting title, but in practice, that “speed” feels more like surface-level presentation than genuine combat fluidity. Some characters feel less responsive than those in real-time action games. Attacks, movement, defense, and transitions between actions all lack the sharpness a fighting game should have. It looks like a fast duel on screen, but it often feels as if the player is being dragged along by the system and the animations. The blade flashes, yet the character still feels strangely hesitant. That gap is hard to ignore. The animation presentation is not as poor as a cheap slideshow, but it still falls far short of what the price suggests. Taking the Ultimate Edition as an example, its recorded regular price is NT$2,990 in Taiwan, US$99.99 in the United States, and ¥12,540 in Japan. At that price point, I would expect stronger character presentation, a more refined combat system, and a more convincing amount of content. Yet the actual experience leaves too many problems stacked together: weak game feel, questionable roster choices, and underwhelming animated presentation. Even calling it “a game made for fans” feels like a generous excuse. Since release, this game has felt less like a product built to serve players or satisfy fans, and more like something made simply to cash in on the IP. For a franchise with this much weight and memory behind it, this does not feel like a Bankai. It feels more like spiritual pressure running dry.
I like the style but holy crud it feels like a cinder brick to strike and block.
