Arguably one of the best action games out there. The rougelike aspect is well crafted and the game really ramps up the more you dive into it. The game looks amazing. It feels very satisfying to play. Top notch.
i get to play a fighting game without having to play a fighting game, its peak
BlazBlue Entropy Effect me surpreendeu muito.
This games sits in a very weird place: it's flashy, feels good to play and the collabs are amazing. But: - the lore is completely nonsensical (feels like there's some language barrier or wildly mistranslated), - the late game is same-y (find a skill that either deals a lot of damage and focus on dodging, or load up on skills that keep you 95% of the time invincible and just ignore every enemy attack), - bosses are the only thing that have a real chance of putting up a fight, - bosses attack visual clutter is outta control. However, there's a lot of care for each character, and the core game is solid (even considering the jagged edges). A sequel could probably tighten up the experience.
The quality of the game is really astounding, it's a near perfect game, but there are still a couple of pain points : -The information given by the game are quite vague most of the time. It may say "Chance to do X" without telling you the chance, and certain things are simply never explained : The game never tells what constitutes a kill streak, or a combo, for example. It isn't helped by clear struggles during translations. Certain things are obviously mistranslated, and the vocabulary used is often misused if not plain wrong, which leads to even more confusion.. This isn't helped by a lack of outside information, with a near blank wiki. The game relies a lot on fighting game mechanics, if you do not understand fighting game mechanics, you are *bound* to get confused very often, since the game never explains what super armor is, for example. -The screen can get incredibly cluttered, even worse in multiplayer, if you don't know what the bosses are doing by pure sound cues or timing, it's fully possible that you won't be able to see an attack coming due to how intense the visual effects are in the game. -The multiplayer is horrendous if you aren't playing on a local server. Latency is done is a way I've never seen before, where EVERYTHING you do suffers from ping, even menu navigation. It's as if you were streaming the game directly from the server. In a game that needs split second actions to be made, and with fighting game combos, this is plain painful. Overall, it's an extremely solid game... The new player experience suffers, especially if you aren't familiar with fighting games, and the online multiplayer is really terrible if you aren't hugging a server or hosting locally, but for long time, dedicated players, this might be one of the best roguelites out there.
I have owned this game for a while and enjoyed BlazBlue IP itself since Calamity Trigger. Without getting into the lore because it is not important here this game is amazing. This gameplay loop itself is satisfying as you gain more moves to combo into. The movement is also great within the game as someone who has played hades, dead cells, etc I think this will be up alot of people's alley. In addition you never leave the run with nothing. You are reminded of your failures with the old runs and builds returning to you as assists in your next runs - making sure that you always try hard to get that perfect build down. What amazes me though is that even after layoffs at 91act this game didnt die... it just KEEPS getting updates, and not just patches characters added to rosters with their own plethora of moves, and route options. Yes there is some DLC but tbh if you dont want the character it doesnt matter and for the price point itll keep you busy for a bit. Even among other action rougelikes I often never find one as appealing of the gameplay here. This is a polished game here. If you just wanna turn your brain off this is it.
