A while back I played the demo and I really enjoyed it. The music is fantastic, controls felt like they were on the way to being perfected and I was eager to see more. I purchased the game, but I somehow find the controls worse now. I find the kick move incredibly unreliable and I end up dying more often than I find myself hitting enemies. The only problem I have with the game so far is the controls, they just feel awkward. Otherwise, the game is a brilliant and charming retro inspired platformer.
The game is essentially unplayable on WASD and Play Station controllers don't work. For now this is a thumbs down for me until it has proper support.

As an early access game, it's good so far. But I know it has potential waiting to be unlocked in the future.
This game is amazing, if you like 3D platformers like mario64, get this game!
The Game
Blanco: The Color Of Adventure is an Early Access 3D platformer. Your character, Blanco, has a few moves in his disposal: he can run, jump, bounce off walls, roll, attack in two different ways and use items (mostly bombs). After jumping once, he can quickly repeat his jump to jump higher. Blanco also has some enemies: I didn't beat the whole game yet, but currently I have faced 3 types of foes. The attacks you use (not counting bombs, which are fun to mess with but really OP) are practically useless, and it's better to just run away from threats. These two attacks are kicking and dropping on enemies after a jump. Kicking almost always fails to save you from taking damage, and the drop attack needs very precise aiming, as it's range is very low - it can attack enemies directly below you, but no one else.
The Music
I only have one thing to say about this game's soundtrack: it's great.
The Words That Start On G
This game's Graphics are really inconsistent. Sometimes, they look really nice thanks to the game's artstyle, and sometimes, Blanco throws it's artstyle out of the window resulting in a very ugly level - looking at you, level 3. Seriously, imagine that level 3 was a person - I would either a) run away; b) realize it's my own reflection and cry Blanco's biggest problem are Glitches, and a lack of polish (but that's expected from an Early Access title) In this game though, they could possibly ruin the whole experience. Blanco will often get stuck, not react properly, respawning also doesn't work properly (when you die by falling off the level, you simply respawn, when you die by getting killed by an enemy - the whole level resets). One of the game's coolest features is the fact you can lock it at 30fps - if you know you won't run it consistently in 60fps, you can just lock it to 30 and stop worrying. But, this can also cause some problems - sometimes, after dropping below 60 (just by 1 or 2 fps) the game would lock itself at 30fps. It's really annoying, as it looks like the game controls a little different - the camera is much slower. Controls are a bit wonky though, and keyborard controls are just awful.
The Conclusion
I could go on, but overall, I really, really want this game to be finished and polished as it deserves to. Overall, Blanco is a game that could be a great 3D platformer, and you can clearly see the stuff it does well just by playing it - but the lack of polish makes everything fall apart. Play the demo to see if you'll like it, as it's still a pretty fun game. This game HAS a lot of potential. This games great
Mediocre game with great music, but it's been forgotten by time and it's creator too apparently. Someone should bring back Blanco, but make it great on all aspects. That is my only wish.
Omg this is awesome! I love the style of the game and I love the gameplay too!
I found a couple bugs were I glitch out of the game, and also you can beat this game by just doing one level over and over again. but overall this is a fantastic play and I had tons of fun going through it. I can't wait for the future updates. Here is the link to my playthrough of it if anyone is interested https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qu-fBPj0FCs
Played the demo of this game a couple of years back and never played it again since, until now (tbh it was due to not knowing you needed the bomb powerup for everything lol; got kinda frustrated. Know how to play it now tho)... Bad mistake; this game is a damn gem! Genius aestheics, good level design, great OST! Tbh my only problem is it doesn't support my 360 controller for some reason? I assume it'd be the same with my PS4 controller since that's not an MS thing. So yeah, I had to make due with keyboard controls, which was still bareable, but probably would've been more fun on controller. Please fix this if you can, would be appreciated! Also, is the castle level that requires 12 super gems even completeable? I have NO idea on how to do it, lol... Regardless, this game is great and you should all go and at least try it! Seriously, you won't regret it. This needs more attention. Looking forward to the full release! <3
