BioShock Infinite

Two caveats: the review is for all 3 games which i bought as a bundle, and i'm not a FPS fan. With that being said: Bioshock 1: Overall, alright. Aged well, the gameplay could be fun at times, the exploration is nice, the story is nothing burger, but keeps you going. There is a plot twist at the end that you can see miles away, but the details were interesting. I do not regret spending my time on that game. Bioshock 2: much more simplistic story-wise (and the first one was not exactly elaborate) but more polished and has better overall narration and characters. Still fun exploration and a somewhat fun gameplay. I do not regret spending my time on that game for the most part. In both 1&2, you are offered some decisions - typically, between something obviously evil and obviously good - with no good reason to choose the evil option. Bioshock Infinity: the gameplay got more basic, and exploration is gone. Sad. The story is somewhere there, but 2 hours in, and i have no idea why i'm playing this. A big reveal at the end does not make a story good. A good story grows on you. Hard pass for this game. Overall, it's a meh trilogy for me.

Infinite se presenta mas como un juego de disparos que esa combinacion entre immersive sim y shooter que eran sus antecesores, estaras mas enfocado en llenar tu arsenal antes que usar los vigorizadores, aunque se pueden apreciar algunos agregados que se agradecen que porfin esten aqui.

Completed the entire BioShock trilogy for the first time in 2026 on steamdeck, and my mind is completely blown. Even years after their release, these games stand as absolute masterpieces of storytelling, atmosphere, and world-building. The chilling philosophy of Rapture and the mind-bending quantum paradoxes of Columbia left me staring at the screen in pure awe. This trilogy is timeless, but man... it truly deserves a proper, high-budget remake with modern tech. 10/10. A must-play for anyone who values true art in gaming.
