BioFusion is a VR co-op multiplayer, PvE, first-person-shooter, tower defense game. Swing on a grappling hook, ride a hovercraft, throw grenades, collect buffs, build towers and traps. Do what you must to keep the mutants from the Spores of Evolution.
Revenue comes from in-game items and microtransactions, which our price-based model doesn't estimate. Copies below reflect the player base, not paid sales.

Biofusion The Action/tower defense is an under-represented genre in VR. But is there room for Biofusion when Guardian Frontline exists? You begin the the game selecting one of two characters each Soldier or Stratagest each with their own pros and cons (don't worry you can switch between them back at base) It essentially boils down to whether you prefer cheaper build costs or if you prefer more damage from your guns (do you lean more toward the TD or the FPS side?) Both can do both.....just slightly better or worse than each other in their respective roles. Both also have a grapple hook to aid movement across the maps. With the majority of the levels, it's simple. You have a central point that you need to protect "the spores" You do this by building defense towers (turrents and traps) or walls to protect the spores, or by using your own weapons. No matter which role you pick your likely to do a bit of both. If enemies destroy the spores you lose it's as simple as that. Dying just respawns you after a short period (better hope you set your defenses up well or have online buddies to cover you....theres matchmaking) There are a few variations of levels; a number chuck you on a moving "vehicle" where you also have to occasionally guide the raft/vehicle too. There is also an escort mission to.....um look forward to. Completing missions/achievements and killing enemies generate coins for you to spend on defenses and ammo in the levels. There are some extra mechanics to encourage you to keep playing. Weapons level up for more perks and there is a DNA system (Perk) When you complete levels of find hidden cashes in levels you get DNA that you can slot into your character (up to 3) By finding 3 of the same you get to merge them to get a stronger version of that perk. DNA has multiple levels to upgrade to. You will probably need to grind a bit to get better perks if you want to tackle normal difficulty or harder (unless you happen to be in a full team) A solid game for free o.O? No microtransactions in sight (on launch I dont know how it's free) I'll pick up the dev's other title Ash Of Legends.....which seems like more of the same after I am done with Biofusion to support them Cant complain with such a low asking price. Nothing to lose really if you are after some FPS/TD hybrid in VR.

BioFusion is a free to play VR co-op multiplayer, PvE, first-person-shooter, tower defense game. It worked on my HTC Vive and Index system, looked ok, played ok, sounded ok. Check this free to play game out, it needs players.

Hey everyone, one of the Playtesters for the game here. If you like VR and/or Tower defense games like I do, then BioFusion is honestly the game for you. BioFusion has a lot of mechanics, levels, weapons, traps etc. for everyone to strategize with. While there are only 2 roles to play, each one is diverse in areas they specialize in. The game has a rarity system in place so it’s perfect to grind for the highest rarity. The game is a lot of fun for people who want to team up and get to the end of each difficulty, but it also takes teamwork. Don’t let my 0.1hrs fool you, most of my hours are in the Playtest version. With what I had experienced while playing is that this game is a solid 8/10 and the devs are always working hard for it. Personally, it’s one of the best Indie dev games I have played.
its a beautiful hidden gem, sure its got its issues, like the main menu area being a little slippery to navigate, but the models for the characters seem to be made for this game specifically, not pulled from somewhere else, and its got some mechanics that make the game a ton of fun overall its a solid 8/10, not perfection, but very good
Enjoyed myself a lot, running around panicking and laughing.
"BioFusion" is certainly a "fusion"... of a whole bunch of mismatched assets and gameplay mechanics stitched together to make a Frankenstein's Monster of a bloated VR tech demo. What do you do in the game? Better to ask what don't you do! This is schizophrenice mess of a game... first person wall building tower defense with grapple/parkour mechanics. Which makes it sound grandiose, but every aspect of it is a clunky unpolished mess. And ultimately all these mechanics just add up to a very basic wave survival shooter with some defense turret mechanics, if you try to trim away all the weird stuff the developer needlessly bolted onto a rather tired and shallow core game loop. The assets look a little mismatched but they're also much higher quality than the actual game. It's a bit of a red flag for an asset flip, but there's no evidence or smoking gun in this case. While there's no proof, the overall low quality of the actual "game" part (an important part of the whole package that makes up a game) is indistinguishable from an asset flip, and no matter where the assets came from, the quality here is bad. It's VR exclusive, and that shows the developer failed to understand the most basic axiom of VR game design... if the only cool thing about your product is VR support, your product is not cool. Now on to pricing and value for gamers. This is "free" enough (not every "free" game in the "free" section is truly free, there's usually some hidden price tag), at least you won't be expected to spend any more money after you download this, but just because something is free doesn't mean it's good, and the cost of a game is more than just financial, your time is valuable too. Despite having no up-front cost, this failed to appeal to the 130 million+ gamers on Steam. SteamDB shows this peaked at only 8 concurrent players... this is a dismal public reception. This was so bad they couldn't even give it away. Bearing in mind that free games don't add +1 to your game collector count, should you bother adding this to your library and downloading it? What's the verdict? Nope. This isn't worth downloading. There's no financial cost up-front, but you'd still be spending your time and a little hard drive space on a product that's far from the best. There's thousands of better alternatives on Steam.
