"Bewildered" is one of literally thousands of student projects infesting Steam. It's from Breda in the Netherlands. While student projects tend to be better quality than most "amateur" made games, we must still question what value such projects have for gamers. As with all student projects, this isn't really a fully fleshed out game, it's just the result of an academic exercise, and as such it has much more limited value as a game than a professionally developed game would have. Educational institutions should not be using Steam as a dumping ground for homework assignments (especially if the students didn't even pass the course). Sure, it helps their marketing and helps the students feel good about themselves, but this is another case of a business putting themselves before the needs of gamers. The students made a simple console-like third person action adventure game where you work with a "Guardian beast"... this does a good effort of coming across as if it's a real game, the visual presentation is cartoony but tolerable... of course, beauty is sometimes only skin deep, and as a student project, this is shallow, clunky, unpolished, and repetitive... like all student projects, there's no depth here, just a mad push to get a decent grade and walk away. The graphics in this game are passable, but could be better. And while it's vital for any game to have impressive visuals (gaming is a visual medium, after all), there's more to a game than just the graphics. To be worth a gamers time, the game must match top tier visuals with top tier gameplay, and that's not happening here. Now on to pricing and value for gamers. It would be unethical for students to try charge money for their homework assignments, so you don't have to pay any money for this. But you'd still have to spend your time downloading this, and "time is money", as they say. There's the other problem, too... as a student project, this wasn't made for gamers. There's no requirement for them to polish and balance the game properly, all they need is something to show the faculty so they can get their grade and move on. Let's once more ask... why is that good for gamers? It's obviously not delivering a solid product. Yet here it is, on the store page, and here you are, reading my review for a student demo that's going to waste your time. While genuine amateur developers who made real products get ignored because they have to compete with this stuff. In some ways, this deluge of student projects on Steam is harmful to everyone. In terms of public reception, this failed. There's over 130 million unique gamers visiting Steam every month. SteamDB showed the game peaked at only 12 concurrent players... this is a dismal public reception. This was so bad they couldn't even give it away. Since this is more of a student tech demo than a full, genuinely made game for gamers, and offers no Steam features, like a +1 to your game count, I can't recommend downloading this over a full, professionally made game, of which there are thousands here on Steam.

Best game I've played this year!
another Steam crap!
Gra nudna, podstawowe sterowanie kompletnie do bani, brak wytłumaczenia co trzeba robić, chociaż grafika postaci i otoczenia bardzo ładna

Bewildered Positives: + Ok idea + Nice graphics + Good music + Beautiful mini-world + Its free + Its short Negatives: - Awful AI - Below par spawning enemies in small arenas - The worst and most tendious combat system ever (and its on top of that broken most of the time) - Game breaking bugs and errors - You get stuck and glitch here and there - The monster is behaving like a total ♥♥♥♥♥♥ (not helping at all in combat, gets stuck everywhere, stands in your way, walks slowly like a drug addict, doing the opposite when getting commands etc) - Monotonus and repetitive gameplay - No fun - Hearing "no energy" for the 100th time is really annoying - A lot of frustration because of the above - A total waste of time It looked so promising in the beginning, with the beautiful graphics, design and music. So where did this go wrong? It all went downhill when the bugs, enemies and monster arrived. If all the errors where fixed, and the combat system was scrapped, maybe the game could have been saved. Or making it into a non violent game instead with just quests, exploration and parkour. It would certainly be better than this cr*p. So just avoid it, its not worth playing. Total Score: 2.5/10
Concept/Story: + Interesting that blocking/dashing provides ammo instead of picking them + Map and character design look pretty + It would be better to click the story and read what we want to understand Gameplay: - Movement is nice, but jumping feels awkward (something blocking when jumping) - Beast movement/action is slow and unresponsive to commands - The creature mob's movement is awkward and hard to predict when they keep blinking left and right. - There is no navigation to lead the way after the battle - Need a tutorial to show all the potential of the character, like holding LMB to charge the shots and deal high damage
