Beneath Her Gaze

Every short man's nightmare. A tall woman.

It's a linear visual novel about a very big girl. If that doesn't sell you on it, throw the handbrake and exit the car now. If you're still with me, the game is also a lot more than that. You take on the role of a psych student, hired under rather mysterious circumstances and tasked with essentially one job per person you meet: the father and head of the estate who asks you to mind his daughter as only a psych student (in-training, I suppose) can. The daughter herself, meanwhile, believes her father is up to something nefarious and asks you to keep tabs on him in turn. Caught in the middle of it all, you go through a series of choices that either end in a variation non-standard game over condition, or continue the plot. The game, as of this writing, is still in its early access but excels as with its intrigue plotline, intense black-white contrast and shading, and it's - pardon the turn of phrase here - larger-than-life characters and story setup. I eagerly await the full release of the game to complete its story in earnest. For now, it's an excellent establishing of characters and backgrounds and start for very large things to come indeed.
