This game is lot of fun! It was developed in consultation with Aussies, and while it may not be a good representation of the culture, it's a fun take on it, for sure. The physics, while maybe not completely natural, always feel fair, i.e. if something goes wrong, I generally feel like it's my fault and not the game's fault. The first few levels are pretty simple, but the difficulty ramps up quickly. Overall, a good time, well worth the price tag.
Experienced on a Meta Quest 2 using airlink. Played using LIV. Stop Kangaroos From Taking Your Beer & BBQ - Beers And Boomerangs Beers And Boomerangs is a fun interactive Aussie cooking sim meets defense style game. You will be serving up food and drinks to your mates, while protecting your beers and BBQ from the local wild life using boomerangs. You will have the challenge and timing of cooking and preparing the food, well also protecting it from swarms of Kangaroos trying to sneak up and steal it. This game gets challenging very fast, and each stage has 3 stars to earn to unlock more content. The more star you get the more extra you unlock in the game. This gives each stage great replay value. The game has two modes of play campaign and arcade mode. The game world takes place in Australia. You will be dropped into a wacky but very nice cartoon world, where you can interact with pretty much everything. The game also has great boomerang physics and feels amazing when you catch your first boomerang. The aiming is easy and you will become a boomerang expert in no time. The game has three methods of movement. Smooth locomotion, teleporting and room scaling, it should meet the comfort level for everyone. The controls of combat and cooking felt great. This makes the game very immersive and time will just fly away as you play. This is more then just a cooking sim, its also a game of defense with a fair amount of challenge to it. I don't think I have played anything like this before. This game is so much fun to play. It takes the joy of VR cooking sims and mixes it with a defense style game and pulls it off very well. This is a great game for playing at parties and introducing people to some great VR party fun. Don't take my world for it, download the free demo and get hooked. Controls/VR: I played it on the Valve Index and it feels great that you can pick and throw boomerangs by grabbing and releasing the controller. You can adjust the height of the tables and coolers so you don't have to bend if you don't want to, so good accessibility. Content: I'm writing this after the first play session (could do about an hour before my VR stamina ran out on the 2nd boss level). It seems I'm a bit over halfway through based on the map, but the difficulty is ramping up so it'll probably take me more than double that to complete it. And that's just to get through, I only got 3 stars on the first few levels. Getting all the stars will take quite some time. But yeah, the 2nd boss requires a lot of rotating around so it made me quit a bit sooner than I'd like, but that's just VR for you. Art/Feel: The game is funny enough in the trailer and the art/atmosphere feels even better in VR. The lighting especially gives the levels a nice look and the environments feel very cozy. It's just nice to be in the game's world, which is always a plus to me. And I'm a sucker for puns, so yup, the game has you covered there! :D TL;DR: If you're looking for a silly, arcade-style game with satisfying controls, it nicely delivers what it promises in the trailer.
How could you possibly be burning calories while chugging some devilish Aussie beers? What about tossing some mean boomerangs on some kleptomaniac 'roos and other sick local fauna without PETA being aware of the carefree, but innocent monstrosity? WELP, this game packs it in with a punch, delivering some of the most fun I had in years. Highly recommend!!
Boomies and Beers! And also Koalas Really loved the boss fights, obviously, not even close to finishing the campaign. But it is quite a decent workout
An amazing experience inside a really fun, colorful and chaotic game world. Adorable kangaroos, ice cold beers and a BBQ, what more could you ask?
The most fun I've had playing a VR game, it shows I spend the whole day sit because it really made me sweat! Fantastic fun, I didn't expect boss battles in a game like this. Highly recommend it
