As of July 17th, 2026, the game is enjoyable to play, despite its multitude of classic BF problems mixed with the new. its worth it, just barely.
Positives:
Bf6 isnt some polarizing title; in fact, its launch was (in my opinion) to directly compete with the call of duty method. Redsec was of course the comparison to Warzone. It worked, kind of, but I still dont think it secured the main demographic they were going for. Despite this, it has some very fun matches, with that notorious chaotic cinematic ensemble , that fills you with excitement , every single match. Robust vehicles, ground and air, weapons that feel unique- yet rewarding , to use/become an expert at. Graphics look fantastic, weapons sound authentic (not plasticy, like some other modern FPS titles, cough cough) and the general feeling of map to map rocks your bones with the ire of warfare. Its battlefield again, in all its glory. Getting tons of kills on a Breakthrough point, sweeping a conquest map with your team, getting a 500m snipe or more. Its all there.
Negatives:
With that famous BF euphoria comes infamous BF problems. I wont go into depth as much as I should, but to keep it fairly brief, a summary of main ones:
- Footstep audio inconsistent , despite claims its been fixed
- Vehicles far too dominant and engineers far too weak in response
- Maps often too small for long engagements
- Suppressor only viable barrel attachment
- Spotting mechanic far too frequent, impossible to stealth, even with subsonic ammo added
- Dying to controller using KbM feels awful and unfair
- Spawning on any vehicles, at any point , feels too strong, and throws game flow off
- Limited anti-vehicle ammunition for infantry; too much reliance on rockets
- TTK can sometimes feel so fast...too fast. far too fast.
- console desync leaves PC players feeling like theyve been shot long after entering cover
I like the game, and I enjoy the time ive played. But it does come with a variety of issues that I feel like DIce continues to ignore. Its not going to stop me from playing, but I do hope eventually they will address our frustrations. I would still recommend it, its not all doom and gloom, but honesty is part of my principles, so with a recommendation comes a warning.
