I bought this game for 3 dollars when I was caught up in the BF6 hype cycle and I still feel like I got ripped off. And I didn't even end up buying 6 because I disliked the free trial I played. Any good ideas this game has are totally squandered by bad maps, bad weapon and vehicle balancing, the stupid ass specialist system, Portal being an underbaked mess, straight up horrendous gunplay, and the standard live service dripfeed system that made each season rather barren. I did have fun at some points because when you get a half-decent lobby it's fun in the way Battlefield always is, and there were several events and special modes that were pretty neat. I like certain specialist gadgets but I wish they were just gadgets and not locked to specific characters. Not a game I could recommend even at a heavy discount, especially now that the playerbase has either moved on to 6 or moved back to older Battlefields out of nostalgia.
