BANZAI ROYALE

BAUNZEIII ROOYALLEE. It's essentially works as a really fast paced top down area game with a bunch of crazy weapons, from katanas, to railguns, to throwing a cheeseburger at people.The rounds are usually no more than a minute and a half so there's not a lot of waiting around, you're always in the action whenever you're playing. There's also a pretty sweet evasion mechanic that allows you to dodge attacks with the right timing, simillar to Enter The Gungeon if you've played that. You can also totally kill yourself with explosives. It's a really simple concept for a royale game but it's pretty addcitive even in it's early state and it's a ton of fun to play with other people. I should mention devs are super cool too and there was clearly a lot of effort put into this game. Just don't be put off by the "Royale" title because it's nothing any any other "Royale" games at all, it's pretty unique. The game shows a lot of promise and I can't wait to see what the Devs do with it!

This game was the best Battle Royale I have ever played. Why play Forkknife when you can literally kill people with a knife in this game. Not a ton of other players yet, but playing with some friends was a blast.

A fun little battle royale with a lot of potential! Off to a great start, you start off on predesigned maps littered with loot. Weaponry is fun and unique. Id love to see different valued heals, more quirky weaponry, more ways to customize ones character(including being able to be female would be awesome!) Right now there is only 2 maps, but I can't wait to see more! Hosting a match was simple and easy, no lag and very quick! I wish the colors on customizing your character allowed you to free select from a colorwheel instead of preset colors. The purple for my hair couldn't match my tie, there was no purple for my shoes, and I ended up a bit of a hot mess! A minor but valuable(atleast to me) observation. I also think it would be fun if there were rewards to each match. Maybe finding new customization stuff or leveling up to new ones. Great game! Really excited for it's future!

If you watch the original film "Battle Royale" you will see this is closer than other games in the genre - it's fast paced, with "cartoon" gore and close up violence, not sneaking around and sniping from a distance. For example, if you kill someone with a meat cleaver, you get a steak to eat that restores health. Voice over guy is great - reminds me of Takeshi's Castle! Progression of this games development has allowed the devs to balance the weapons and maps so much, and introduce Bots so you can kill time whilst waiting to kill your friends. I will say playing against other people is the most fun, but if you join any active game, people are very welcoming. If you're struggling to find a match, join the game discord - The community is awesome! I've never seen anyone get salty in this game! Even though everyone takes it seriously, you can't help but laugh at it, and dust yourself off for the next round.

So here's the inside scoop. Games currently $2.99, get it and play with your buds 4 or more (preferably) and you will easily lose 2+ hours. its a basic BR but funny and surprisingly balanced with a decent skill range. Totally worth for while on dale and your friends got the $3 to spare (i just bought 5 copies instead as a bribe though). Downsides being, only two maps right now with game (haven't looked in work-shop), and this game would be 5x times better if they included a customizable item menu for gun type spawns or spawn rate, or even disabling healing items. These things aside the maps are stunning and offer up many different ways and scenarios to fight with the small, but effective, range of weapons that are at your disposal. Also did i mention the music, sound effects, and announcer are 15/10, its kinda a blatant stereotypical voice but it hits that Fun spot right in your heart. Even in early access, BANZAI ROYALE is a treat. It is only technically a BR. The gameplay loop is faster, less serious, and (in my opinion) a lot more fun than some of the mainstream BR games right now. It almost feels more like Duck Game or something like that, where you’re in and out of rounds too quickly, and if you’re bad at the game like me, you can still enjoy it and have a great time with your friends. I’m excited to see the community grow and have more players online. In early access, it’s just me and my friends playing, but that’s not an issue for me. It looks like they’re doing a lot to make online play more available for people who can’t schedule time to meet up with their friends online. For the price of lunch, you can have a game with a satisfying core gameplay loop, hilarity for you and your friends, and a lot of love and support from the devs. You can also stomp on crummy players like me and be challenged by really good players. There’s a lot of depth in the game and I can’t wait to play more.
