I really liked this game! Positives: - Loved the dialogue: it was witty, romantic and the characters were both smart - Loved both the MC and Lucius (and their yearning/bantering) - the character art was beautiful and the backgrounds were good (my favourite was the blood moon) - I liked the lore! The middling: - the voice acting was great, don't get me wrong, but it was weird how it only happened in a few scenes. The line delivery was very well done (except during the song) but it left me wanting more. I think I'd have prefer it to have been either fully voiced or not at all. The bad: - I found it ended quite suddenly. (I had the become a vampire/ break the curse ending) I would have loved it if we had seen them have a proper romance scene or at least do the ritual together/ leave together. I missed some oof at the end. So actually I just wanted more of this story and didn't want it to end.
fun short story, it's not a very big game but what is there is fun

The writing and storytelling, whilst not revolutionary, is very compelling and I played through the whole story in a single sitting. The characters are fun and interesting, and compositional choices strengthen the narrative of the relationship between Abigail/the MC and
Lucius
. I think the use of foreshadowing and setting up major reveals
(Lucius' night terrors and the Queen's true nature)
in this story are some of the most effective buildups I've read in a story recently, both in traditional literature and the visual novel format. Overall, I feel the writing is incredibly effective. There are some lines that aren't great, but expecting every line in a visual novel (one made in a month's time iirc) to be flawless is unrealistic. I also did like how the voice acting helped make Abigail and Lucius feel like real individuals in the sections that were voiced. A lot of times, voices in games comes off as too polished, breaking immersion via audio that's too perfect, too dissimilar from real life. I especially like the singing from Abigail for the one song. Whilst likely unpleasant to some since it isn't "perfect", it does a fantastic job at expressing Abigail's emotions as she's performing the song. It also strengthens the immersion of the scene, as an unblemished take of the song would sound jarring and odd given the context of the scene. Overall, thoroughly enjoyed this visual novel and will definitely check out some of the other VNs offered by this developer :)
Though this story is less like the classical otome or visual novel in the sense that there is only one love interest and not many choices, it 100% made up for it by having a great plot- especially at the end. My favourite route to take was obviously the freedom one, because that's the most intriguing part of the plot in my opinion. It's a great "mystery" plotline that actually wraps up the loose ends from the hints that had been dropped from time to time, and it offers a proper conclusion- though of course, I think it had potential in becoming a full-blown second part of the game. Though I understand that as a free game, it wasn't going to go as far as it could have been if it was a fully-fledged game you had to buy. The characters certainly had some depth and were interesting, even if it was a little slow to pick up (then again, given the nature of their relationship, it's understandable that it would start off as a slow burn). All in all, for a free game it's honestly great, with an amazing plot (if you make the right decisions, otherwise it can end much faster and not be as interesting). Also, I played the "Imperial Grace" demo (the new game they are working on) a few years back (haven't played since because I want to wait until it comes out and get a fresh start to discover the final product), and I'm very much looking forward to it, so I recommend checking that out!

ENEMIES TO LOVERS WOHOOOO...!! basically two broken people who completed eachother, it's a slow burn done well I LOVE THE PACING AND HOW EACH ENDING REVEALS SOMETHING MORE ABOUT THE PAST AND THE TWO CHARACTERS ITSELF. mc was also written well and you'd understand why she's that way. I love how there's an actual song in the middle of the VN, something that not a lot of game did. plus for a free game, it was surprisingly branched as well :p I just kinda wish there's an actual cg for some of the intimate moments of the story, and maybe the character sprite should have more variations into it but yeaaaaa, I still find it enjoyable despite all that. I truly recommend this for those who are into slow paced VN's :w:
Amazingly written. I loved the dialogue options that were full of personality and the MC and Lucius are both charming personalities.
3/5
This game is free, so I can definitely recommend it. A bit awkward and rough around the edges, but there's enough heart there to pass the time pleasantly.
