You're back, but the entire dream is empty. All residents have evacuated, and the reason is you. The walls are covered with a number of hurtful messages, but the most common one is - "You can keep the whole city to yourself, but DON'T FOLLOW US, YOU MONSTER!"

About
After all these years your bad dreams are back but something is terribly wrong... It's a surreal and dark nightmare but people seem to be scared and disgusted by... you?
Only the old, sick and unable to evacuate remained in the city. Everyone else fled. Even though there are strange monsters roaming around the city, people hide strictly from you. "You can keep the whole city to yourself, but you are not welcome among us." - This is the message that was left for you in the letter. The reason is not clear. Maybe you were simply mistaken for someone else?

Quite short but pretty cool point&click with good ideas as usual.
Surreal point and click hidden object that breaks a lot of walls, but is very rewarding. Around 3-4 hours worth of content with a weird story and lots of interactivity in the environment. If you like compulsively clicking on things, or are a fan of this devs previous games, this one might tickle your fancy. Some of the logic is truly outside the box and I think its a great complement to the series; if you haven't played any of the previous games before, I recommend pairing this one with the bad dream series + greenberg to get some context/appreciation for the references, but it isn't a must.
The story is not bad but some puzzles are so difficult to solve without the walkthrough.
Great game with an interesting concept.
Not once have I been disappointed by a Bad Dream game, and this one once again hit the mark for me. I sometimes wish more people knew about it because seeing only 30 reviews really shocked me! I think point and click horror games like this really are a great way for people that are scared of the horror genre but do want to try it out get into it, and it also has just the right amount of funny dialogue to come back to that lightheartedness that makes Bad Dream so Bad Dream.
Creative, fun and spooky as always! I'm a big fan of the random clickables, very reminiscent of the classic point-and-clicks of the early 00s. As a long time fan, I'm happy to see the effort and attention to detail consistently evolving with every new Desert Fox title. Can't wait for the next one!
I've been a fan of the Bad Dream series since 2017 (ish). I really enjoy this combination of weird, spooky and a little horror puzzle solving games, so I got hooked pretty fast. So this review is also for all the Bad Dream games. The only difference with Afterlife is that introduces more mechanics. Really enjoyed the chapters and a certain aspect that makes you think that the game will be over much fast. I also liked the differences in the art style. I loved the parallel between the real world and the game world. This "balance" was really something new and sometimes it makes you wonder things (especially the messages that you'll find through the game). I started the game asking myself if I am the bad guy and ended with some questions and good messages that were beautifully delivered by the game. The puzzles were a tad harder than the previous games, but that's what really gets you hooked on this series. The style is the same as in the previous games, but each new element really pops. Overall, I recommend Bad Dream: Afterlife, even if you're an avid fan of the games, or just a fan of these sorts of games. I actually recommend the whole Bad Dream series. It's interesting, it has a little bit of horror and spooky elements and the art style is unique. A bonus point is that it's perfect for horror games fans that are too scared to play actually horror games (guilty). Looking forward to future games! P.S.
This is a little heads up for animal lovers out there. Although the Bad Dream games are not very detailed, there are some "levels" that contain dead animals, so be careful
I liked the concept for this game, I've enjoyed the other Bad Dream games i've played so was interested to see what this was like. TBH I did struggle from time to time to figure out what I had to do and how to do it, so a little help from something or someone now and then would've been good. Didnt realise there were so many achievements to be had too, maybe i'll play it again sometime to try and get them. But overall I'd recommend it if you're into point and click eerie games, or just the Bad Dream games in general.
