I came for the nostalgia. I stayed because my ego couldn't handle losing to elementary school baseball players. Super fun, easy to jump into, and packed with the same charm I remember. Great revival of a classic.
So good! Reminds me of all the good times growing up playing the original.
This game is one of my favorite games! This game is so fun to play because of how much content there is in the game! I would say this game is worth the price of 40 dollars. But I just love this game!
Im screaming at a virtual little league team. 10/10
I like the game a lot it brings back the nostalgia of the 2001 game, only thing I dont really like / could better is the fielding and that like the originial it would auto make your player go the ball, etc. Other Then that it is a good game.
good game
the new Backyard Baseball game has been, in my opinion, fantastic! Great voice acting for the kids, unlockables' that keep you playing and a great experience overall. I also love all the references to the OG '97 game, as it gives a spark of nostalgia. Pitching and batting are a smooth experience, however, I will say that fielding could do a rework. Sometimes, the backyard kids glitch which can make for some funny (and equally as annoying) moments! Overall, a great release and I'm excited to see what's in store for backyard sports!
Loving the game so far, can't wait to see what future content is planned. Could be something really special if the updates stay strong
This remake captures the charm of the original Backyard Baseball perfectly. The characters, art style, music, and overall atmosphere feel authentic, and the batting is fun and easy to pick up. It's a great nostalgia trip while still being enjoyable for new players. That said, the game could use more polish. Fielding is the biggest issue—defenders react slowly, switching players can feel clunky, and the AI occasionally makes questionable decisions. There are also a few rough edges that make the gameplay feel less refined than it should. Despite its flaws, the foundation is solid, and it's clear the developers care about the series. If they continue improving the fielding, AI, and overall polish through updates, this could easily become the definitive Backyard Baseball experience. A fun and faithful revival that's worth recommending, especially if you're a fan of the originals.
I'm not entirely sure if I can recommend it at this time. It does have quite a few things that I don't think work for it. It's great for nostalgia, it has much potential to be a great game. Couple things i don't like is they removed the zone that the pitch comes in. Now it's either exactly where the ball is going or you have no frame of reference and it's extremely hard to guess where the pitches are going. Like someone else mentions, the breaking balls are damn near impossible to hit correctly. I get it's supposed to be hard without knowing, but idk. Defense seems weird. If you click like you would do in the older games, they stop running for a little bit before moving again. Sometimes it feels as if they're not going where you're clicking. Just a few to name, I haven't had that much time in the game. I refunded it once, but got it again because I'm hoping my money will help them come out with updates and bug fixes to fix the game I love so much. I'll update my review if/when it gets to the quality I hope becomes of it.
