full disclaimer, I have previously fully played through the base game on Ubi Connect and am biased as I know one of the game designers, and though my Connect copy was free I did purchase the Complete Edition on Steam with my own $60 this is probably still one of the most visually impressive games I've played, Massive's Snowdrop engine is a genuinely phenomenal piece of tech, the decision to go ray-tracing only was definitely the right one, though it is unfortunate how many people it prevents from playing the game, I don't think rasterized lighting would have done the game justice, and even then Massive has done a surprisingly good job optimizing the game, I managed to get it running fine on a 1660 Super when it first launched, which for an RT only game in 2023 I'm impressed by the gameplay is fun if you like Ubisoft open-world collectathons, which I do, though I am perpetually annoyed by this growing trend of open-world games not having ways to quickly de-fog the map, I hate it, stop doing it the story is... fine (at least for the base game, haven't done DLC yet), but it's James Cameron's Avatar, if you're engaging with Avatar for the story you are in the wrong ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ franchise, the stories have never been good overall the strongest thing for this game is the graphics, but honestly I think that alone is probably worth purchasing the game for if you have a decent PC, especially at the sale price, it is a very, very pretty game
Honestly, with less than 20 hours into the game, I can say that it is absolutely gorgeous, from the environment to characters, it's all things that I can appreciate! That being said, I am very much disappointed with Ubisofts intellect to integrate actual play mechanics. The game has so many issues with bugs, from stories not progressing due to progression locks that somehow happen because Ubi didn't think to add certain parameters to prevent that, 2 and a half hours of my playtime was dedicated to trying to fix this issue specifically, and why did it happen? Because you're able to explore the maps with no specific points to slow you down for certain cutscenes that you NEED to progress. The issue I dealt with could have saved me so much time if there was a simple "unstuck" button, or save files that you can access, but they do not give you those. First game I have played that does not have save files you can choose from, and in my opinion, that just makes a game buns, especially open world games where you have so much to do, or choose from. Other than that, the clipping into random environment factors, and then getting glitched so that you can not move or escape, is really annoying as well. The game is so beefy, that my laptop (which can run multiple other games with no issue, like BG3, Stellar Blade, Divinity 2, Subnautica 2, Ark, and many more) somewhat struggles to load everything in, especially if I am visiting a new area or fast travel to a spot, I have to sit idle for at least a full minute or two before I am safe to move around, otherwise I risk running into the issue above, where you get clipped into the environment. Overall, I am happy with the game and it's graphics, just wish that a different studio or development team had the opportunity to take over the project. From what I have seen, this game has had the same bugs and issues since release and Ubi still hasn't taken the time to make the quality of life for the game better. Disappointing to say the least as this game has so much more potential. Hope Ubi gets their ♥♥♥♥ together, not only for this game, but just in general. Even if that's a huge ask lmao.

i have really enjoyed this game with my freind and just playing it what a game to play
VERY enjoyable
this game is so far AMAZING! the graphics are insane and i love the openworld
