Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora™

A shockingly good game, especially if you’re a fan of the movies and their worldbuilding like me. The fact that they let you make and customize your own character and Ikran with a frankly insane level of detail shows how much passion the devs have for this world. And the From the Ashes DLC takes everything that’s good about the base game and perfects it. My only complaints are that a lot of the writing in the base game can be pretty cringe (something From the Ashes goes out of its way to fix), and the side objectives even with the side quests can get pretty repetitive. Other than that, this is easily worth the money, especially if you can get the complete edition. The two smaller DLCs are basically more of the same, but From the Ashes is genuinely impressive with what it manages to do. I’d say the game is worth it for that if it wasn’t a direct sequel to the story of the base game. So if you don’t play that first, then From the Ashe won’t make any sense.

I just love this game, It really makes you live the experience of being Navi and living on pandora.

Estou a quase 1 Hora na primeira parte e o jogo está rodando bem mas parece que não carrega o mundo, interações demoram pra aparecer, quebrar as grades de ventilação leva uma eternidade, não sei se é meu PC, que roda jogos como Ghost recon e Lords of the fallen ou se é o jogo mesmo que está zuado.

What a stunning game. Avatar FoP is certainly the most beautiful game I have ever played (especially on my ultrawide). The team over at Ubisoft managed to hit that Avatar feel very well, especially given the change of medium from film to game. I like their choice of mimicking the Far Cry playstyle. I think it feels good, and makes you really care about taking on the villain who is (on paper) basically the same as all Far Cry antagonists. Speaking of the antagonist, I think he was written well. I would have liked to see more of him mid-game and perhaps more interaction in general to make me really hate his guts. However, I do think they did well with him. However, his involvement does show one big flaw I felt with Avatar FoP. This game would vastly benefit from the narrative choice of other Ubisoft games like Assassin's Creed Odyssey. I strongly disagreed with some of the protagonist's choices and they made me really want to play as other side characters in the game instead. If I could choose the narrative direction to steer him away from such a naive path, it would greatly improve the story. Outside of the main path, the side characters are written well enough. I like that there is a long list of side missions to let you learn about each character more. However, almost all of those side characters are far too obnoxiously positive. Where's the negativity? Or even just the realism and depression that comes from the RDA trying to ruin such a beautiful home. The only other gripe I'd like to mention is the performance. I have an RTX 3080 12GB and the best I could do was a locked 50 FPS at 1440p. That's not awful, but I expected better. I understand that the game is gorgeous, but I think some optimisation was missing here. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed the experience and expect that I'll be hopping into the DLCs soon.
