I enjoyed "Audio Drive Neon" quite a lot. The fact that you can listen to any songs from YouTube inside this game is a must own and play. You can choose different type of vehicles, environment, modes and my choice was the default set with a sport car, neon track, arcade mode and speed mode set to medium, the perfect neon feeling from the startup. Choose a song from YT and get ready to test your skills while the car follows the speed of your chosen song which is really neat. Try to collect as many points as you can while following the middle of the road. The end of the road is when the song ends then you can check your score. The songs I've tried and completed the roads with were: *Malu - Oasa (Original Mix) [Uplifting-Trance] *Abelard - Dance In Space (Dream Fiend Remix) [Synthwave / New Retrowave] *Quasars - Queens Of Aerobics [Synthwave / New Retrowave] The only downside I came across was that I couldn't control the car with my Xbox One controller and had to use my mice instead and it felt fine, no big deal. I recommend this game because it's fun, let's you choose your own songs and makes it repayable whenever you get the feel for it.
Played on oculus rift. This game is completely unplayable. The driving is terrible and the controls with touch controllers are jumpy and just feel broken. The bouncy physics, high speed and crap controls combine in a headache-inducing pinball-like experience where I just bounce into walls, respawn, bounce into walls, respawn... etc. What should be a chill drive while listening to some good music ends up an excercise in frustration. Love the idea but the execution is plain broken.
Experienced on the Oculus Quest 2
You can view my review & gameplay here: https://youtu.be/hXrA2KW27HY I originally bought this game for $7 USD on sale on Steam, but it has now gone free to play. As such, this casual racing game where you can play your own music is an easy recommendation from me. It's a blast to play, although it is currently very limited in content. Also, some VR users have reported problems getting their motion controllers to work (it worked fine on the Oculus Quest 2 using link cable). You really only have one map (Forest) with a slight variation from Summer to Winter. It looks nice although what really sets this game apart is the weather effects, the day / night cycle, and the crazy breakneck speeds you'll be travelling at. You steer by moving your motion controllers. Since this is a casual arcade racer, don't expect realistic steering or controls. Slight movements will steer you on the road as the controls are pretty easy. You can play the in-game music or your own MP3s. I tried using the in-game YouTube support, but it never worked. This game used to be called Audio Drive Neon and back then the music really changed the background, but now it doesn't seem to have much effect (other than it's nice to hear your own music while driving). Listen, if you want a simple racer where you get a real sense of speed and danger, but with super easy controls, then this game is for you. I do wish the collision physics were better, but it's okay. Just be warned that you are liable to flip your car over if you're not careful. Rate 7.5/10. Really good free racing game, but RaceRoom is still the best free racer in VR.
Please consider joining my Steam Curator Group. I remember there was an option to switch between 2D and VR but somehow dev removed it now the game unable to play with VR(include quest 2). I tried to downgrade the game ver, but I couldn't.
This music visualizer is awesome, especially in a development stage that appears to be barely post-infancy. Reminiscient of audiosurf, but far more ambitious and immersive. I love the integrated youtube search. Being able to seamlessly load in custom songs is an incredible feature. Well done. Gameplay on "relax" mode is fun. "Arcade" is WAY too fast, with how fundamentally unweildy VR controls are I can never make it more than 15 seconds. Maybe after hundreds of hours of practice I could get better, but this isn't that kind of game. Great introductory program if you're showcasing VR to a non-gamer. Just type in your favorite song and hit drive. Looking forward to see what other environments and visualizations get added as development continues. Well worth the six bucks I paid for it.
decent lil game for 20 mins but the lack of gameplay and features dont start to become noticable such as bad ai, bad hand placement on wheel (they stay at the top of the wheel the whole time) 1 track which feels short but other than that is a nice time waster
This is actually a pretty cool driving game. And I'm sorry I didn't comment sooner, but here goes: one, it's free. That's pretty generous of the dev. Two, you get to drive in the rain and listen to soothing music. It really feels like being in the car with it raining too. There's a garage to pick out your ride and change the color. You don't have to do anything to unlock it either, so that's a really nice touch. There are also currently two tracks. Day or night in the forest. Summer or winter. It's a nice title, and it's a shame it will be removed from Steam. Sorry not to comment sooner. I'm just really bad at driving games and didn't think the dev would want my input. But I really liked this one and driving was really straightforward, so thank you for the enjoyable game, even if I am a bit late. To the dev: You did a really fantastic job with this. The rain was super realistic to me and I loved the fun names on the cars and the ability to change cars and colors from the start. I've watched you work so hard to prefect everything from VR to tracks. And I'm really proud you put that much effort in. You did all that hard work for free and I really think that says something about you as a developer and person. You did everything you could to meet comments and criticisms, so great job and I mean that. Wherever you go and whatever you do, know that you are what a developer should be. Kind, responsive and willing to learn and grow. We need more developers like you on Steam, not less.
Its a very simple game yet Its still quite nice to have something of a interactive visualizer while listening. Great fun for when youre looking to spice up your listening a little
cool game you can put your own music and drive
Was interested when i could play in VR... that seems to have been removed.

[th]
ALL MY CURATED VR REVIEWS: US420 Gamers
[/th]
