Pretty chill game with tons of different mechanics, you don't have to spend a lot of time figuring out the game, but you definitely can! Before finishing the game story I decided to try making insane builds and it's a whole different rabbit hole with tons of content involved. I really liked Atelier Ryza 2 and I also enjoyed Atelier Resleriana, and now I'm grinding Atelier Ryze 3, while basically rediscovering the mechanics and gameplay aspect of the series. I would definitely recommend, HOWEVER, the price is crazy high, so you should wait for discounts!
Yaay i have the OG Ryza triology! .... .... ... .. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ it KT

I love the Atelier Ryza series. The world is beautiful, the story is well constructed and the alchemy system is complex and really interesting. It's quite an unique JRPG series just because you don't just "buy your weapons" but you create them and upgrade them using alchemy... with a huge world to explore, and you cannot get ahead just on levelling alone. You need to navigate your way around the alchemy system and produce better weapons and items. As with many JRPGs, the story is very much linear, but there is much to master. Huge amount of collectibles and side quests, massive item tree to open up by crafting.
This was a step in the wrong direction in my opinion. Open world design just doesn't mix well with Atelier. Still an okay game but I prefer the second game over this one.
