Game is a little grindy and slow, but very well made. The characters are well made and with the patch it is even better. Very good.
can not take tasks, please fix it
Atelier Agnes is a fantasy RPG developed by AQ organization and published by WASABI entertainment. Blending traditional role-playing mechanics with a crafting-focused progression system, the game follows the journey of a young alchemist whose determination to save her beloved sister drives every aspect of the adventure. While the title incorporates visual novel-style storytelling, dungeon exploration, resource gathering, and character progression, its greatest strength lies in how it places alchemy at the center of both the narrative and gameplay. The result is a modest but engaging role-playing experience that rewards preparation, experimentation, and persistence. The story revolves around Agnes Lavlie, a talented young alchemist living a quiet life on the outskirts of a thriving trading city. Despite the hardships she has endured, including the loss of her parents, she remains devoted to caring for her younger sister, Lufa. Unfortunately, Lufa suffers from a mysterious illness known as Sleeping Beauty, a condition that leaves her trapped in an endless slumber. This tragedy forms the emotional core of the game and provides a strong motivation for the player's actions. Agnes's desire to find a cure creates a sense of purpose that remains consistent throughout the adventure. The narrative becomes more complicated when Agnes encounters Bell Faris, a former mentor who unexpectedly returns to her life. What begins as a hopeful reunion gradually reveals layers of self-interest, hidden motives, and questionable decisions. Bell's involvement adds intrigue to the story and prevents the journey from becoming a straightforward rescue mission. The relationship between teacher and student becomes one of the more compelling aspects of the plot, as Agnes must decide how much trust she can place in someone whose intentions are not always clear. Alchemy serves as the defining gameplay feature. Rather than functioning as a simple side activity, crafting is deeply integrated into nearly every aspect of progression. Players gather ingredients from the environment, collect rare materials during exploration, and combine resources to create increasingly useful items. New recipes unlock stronger tools, better consumables, and equipment that significantly improves Agnes's effectiveness. This constant cycle of gathering and crafting gives players a tangible sense of growth and encourages active engagement with the game's systems. Exploration plays an equally important role. Various locations contain the resources required for advanced alchemical creations, making every expedition meaningful. Players travel through forests, dungeons, and other fantasy environments in search of ingredients and clues related to Lufa's condition. Exploration rarely feels disconnected from the overall objective because nearly every item discovered contributes to future crafting opportunities. This interconnected design helps maintain momentum and ensures that progress always feels rewarding. Combat follows a familiar RPG structure but benefits greatly from the crafting mechanics. The items created through alchemy can dramatically influence battle outcomes, making preparation just as important as direct combat ability. Players who invest time into gathering resources and creating powerful consumables are often rewarded with smoother encounters and greater tactical flexibility. This relationship between exploration, crafting, and combat creates a satisfying gameplay loop that remains engaging throughout much of the adventure. One of the more interesting mechanics is the Tactical Point system, which governs many player actions. Whether gathering materials, crafting items, exploring dangerous areas, or participating in combat, players must carefully manage limited resources. This system prevents mindless progression and encourages strategic thinking. Deciding when to conserve resources and when to spend them becomes an important consideration, particularly during longer expeditions where efficiency can mean the difference between success and failure. Character progression is handled in a traditional but effective manner. As Agnes gains experience and acquires better equipment, her capabilities steadily expand. Combined with the increasingly sophisticated items available through alchemy, this progression creates a satisfying sense of advancement. Players are constantly working toward new goals, whether that means unlocking powerful recipes, discovering rare ingredients, or overcoming stronger enemies. Visually, Atelier Agnes embraces an anime-inspired art style that suits its fantasy setting. Character portraits are expressive and colorful, helping convey emotions during story sequences. The world itself may not feature the production values of larger role-playing games, but it possesses enough charm to remain appealing. The presentation successfully supports the narrative and gives the adventure a distinctive identity despite its relatively modest budget. The game's pacing generally benefits from its focus on crafting and exploration. Rather than rushing players through story events, it allows them to gradually build their capabilities and become invested in the world. This slower progression reinforces the feeling that Agnes is genuinely working toward a solution rather than simply following a predetermined path. Players who enjoy methodical advancement and careful preparation will likely appreciate this structure. However, the game is not without limitations. Certain aspects of the presentation reveal its RPG Maker origins, and some systems may feel familiar to veterans of independent role-playing games. The overall production values are relatively modest, and some players may wish for more mechanical depth or greater visual variety. Additionally, the mature content included in the original release may not appeal to every audience, although alternative options are available for players who prefer a more traditional experience. Despite these shortcomings, Atelier Agnes succeeds in delivering a heartfelt adventure centered on determination, family, and personal sacrifice. The emotional stakes remain effective because the narrative consistently focuses on Agnes's relationship with her sister. This personal motivation helps elevate the story beyond a typical fantasy quest and gives players a reason to become invested in the outcome. Atelier Agnes may not reinvent the role-playing genre, but it combines its various systems into a cohesive and enjoyable experience. Its crafting-focused progression, character-driven story, exploration mechanics, and strong central premise create an adventure that remains engaging from beginning to end. For players who enjoy alchemy systems, resource gathering, and fantasy RPGs with a personal narrative focus, it offers a rewarding journey filled with steady progression and meaningful goals.
