It's a really good game with a lot of mechanics that most rpg games are lacking right now, I havent played long yet but ive loved it already, ive seen people saying that it takes too long to walk or battle but as you progress it will become better and I myself experience it too but sometimes it runs smooth, its a really well made rpg, if you want to play an rpg unlike most these days I highly recommend playing this game. The community is really nice as well and it has a different take on stat system though it takes quite a while to understand how the game works but that all depends on you.
Classic game with a very steep learning curv, Loved it 12 years ago love it now that its on steam.

Game was hella fun at first, big community, active dev. However, he spent two days selling off the names of bosses and classes and such for rl money, then disappeared. Said he was in the hospital, but that was over a month ago. He came back a few weeks back and said he got a clean bill of health from the doctor, but he's completely given up on the game. The main hub of the game crashes constantly, and there's a good chance you'll lose gear if you were transfering it before the crash. If Tegra (the dev) were on, he could fix it immediately, but it'll be down for hours, if not days. There are several updates that could have potentially saved the community that he refuses to do. People have literally coded the patches themselves and offered them to Tegra for free and he's remained silent. Most of us have migrated to astonia.eu. Strange game, and certainly has plenty of bugs and issues, but the dev is on every day, and the instant you tell him about a bug he works on fixing it. Usually has a patch out within 15 minutes. Plus, it's completely free. Don't bother investing time in reborn, Tegra certainly isn't.
Astonia. It's old! It's one of the few MMOs that was around when RuneScape was still 2D. For me, it was RS, Astonia, EverQuest, and a whole bunch of worthless ♥♥♥♥ that came out of moon-rune countries. Some time back, the official developer for this game quit development and did an honorable thing of making the game open source. From there, someone took the reins and is actually doing a great job of moving the game forward. ...I didn't realize how much of a learning curve this game had until I started trying to help new players. I'm mostly writing this review to warn you that the game not only requires patience with learning, but it is a true oldschool MMO: it requires time. If this sounds like your kinda thing, you might just enjoy it! Once upon a time, the game was balanced really poorly and it took a lot of effort, from a lot of different people, to effectively gear people out. PvP was huge in those days. Now, the game is balanced well enough that you should be able to take care of yourself without trading with a single person. I cannot stress enough that this game requires time. If you're some once-in-a-while gamer, move along. Astonia is a black hole that gradually consumes your youthful exuberance. tl;dr - New dev is good. No p2w.
I've played this game on and off since 1999 and I have to tell you when I logged in today for the first time from steam I had that feeling of home. It's not a normal RPG where you have a hand to hold to get you through all the missions and the game play, you actually have to work to get through the game play. And with one of the best communities I have ever been apart of . Everyone is friendly and willing to answer questions and help you when you need it you really do get a sence of family when you play this game. I would recommend this game a hundred time a million over give it a try you wont be disappointed <3 My heavenly congrats to the developers for making this amazing version for steam for a game that so many love and enjoy <3
A bizarre rerelease on an old game that was never very good. Made a lot worse by being hosted on a server that makes it feel like you're broadcasting every click to a different planet at 40,000ms ping.
As someone who played the original Astonia 3 for years and then tried the updated Astoina 3.5 (this is what the game is modeled after) I can say this is not worth playing at this time. The staff members in game are not friendly to new players or t the info chat which is designed for asking for help or questions. On top of that the 2nd city which is very easy to get access to early on, is broken. So you have to wait 5 minutes to log out/time out and then can play in a different area. On top of all that you also don't get any starting gear to help you speed progress which other Astonia remakes (use google search) offer to help speed game up. Overall, do not recommend it at this time.
I have been playing Astonia for a little over a week now and this game is quite the gem in the rough. There is a fairly large learning curve in the beginning however the community is more than willing to help. There is also a wiki that is in developement that has a large amount of information to get started. One thing to remember is that Astonia is not a game that will hold your hand like most modern mmo's do today. You have to explore and actually think about the quests and missions that you complete as you progress. All in all it is a fantastic game that has an heir of nostalgia to the olden days of gaming.
It's a cool game, it really has that oldschool charme of games like Divine Divinity or Diablo 1 but the input lag is a bit too high for me. I guess you could live with it but it annoys me too much. I know it's because all players play on the same servers world wide, but to constantly play with 300 ms is too much for me. Still a nice game thou.
