One of the best games Ive ever played. The ship battles alone can keep you busy a long time. Unlike most people that played AC, I like the combat system here. This ranks alongside Red Dead 2.

A light RPG and probably one of the most straightforward entries among the newer Assassin’s Creed games, mainly because it rarely asks you to solve anything more complicated than figuring out which question mark on the map you want to clear next. As an RPG, though, it is surprisingly rich. There is a huge loot system with thousands of weapons and armor pieces, plenty of combinations, engravings, and builds to experiment with. Naturally, most of that experimentation eventually leads to spending twenty minutes comparing two nearly identical helmets for a 4% damage increase. I’d recommend it if you like Ancient Greece and want a simple, accessible RPG with plenty of exploration, combat, and character progression. The story is fairly average, but if you mainly play RPGs to relax, switch your brain off, clear forts, collect legendary gear, and slowly erase every icon from the map, that is hardly a problem.
