I grabbed this game because it was on sale and super cheap, so why not give it a try? Glad I decided to pick it up, it's incredible!. Just enough of a twist on an old classic. It's easy to understand and super simple to play, but still requires quite a bit of strategy. Highly recommended to anyone who likes puzzle games. Plus the art is just gorgeous. Would love to see a sequel!
ASCII langweilig? ASCII kann unerwartet so viel Spaß machen.
A great little retro mash up of pacman and minesweeper space puzzle, love the soundtrack and colourful level design. simple and satisfying. it´s a great game to play in short bursts if you like fast reaction speed / puzzlers.
Really cool ASCII graphics (but 3d parallax) like an upgraded all-text commodore 64 game.
Funny, original and a little bit deeper than you are expecting.
very very fun. if you stumbled upon this game and it seems like your thing, don't hesitate. only complaint is its a bit too easy early on. either a slight time pressure to make it more exciting, or for every non-mine space in a level to have to be cleared to make it a more satisfying puzzle box would fix this.
Besides its "monospace text on CRT" aesthetic, ASCIILL introduces a few new elements to classic minesweeper: you advance through the field by moving to adjacent cells, meaning you typically have only one direction to expand your search. Furthermore, the objective is not to find all the mines. It may be to collect little $ signs peppered throughout the field, progress whilst dodging mobile obstacles, or destroying enemies. I find this to be a welcome variation on classic minesweeper, and the aesthetic is pleasing and well-polished. There is some semblance of a story, but it's frankly poorly written.
Ehhhh. The aesthetics are fantastic but I don't know if there's enough here to make it much more interesting than Minesweeper. For the price (currently $3.14) yeah I'd say check it out but I don't know if it has enough to keep me playing.
i opened the game got flashbanged then my eyes hurt then i accidentaly closed the game then started it up again and had alot of fun! go play it its worth it
