Suck on a subway Embark
While generally fun when it was released, game is a wasteland of cheaters. I'll deal with rats, buggy maps, and etc. But the fact they don't have a system in place to punish and detect cheaters is wild.
This game is honestly trash. There's zero content, the updates don't change anything, and the gameplay loop is just mindless, unrewarding repetition. The combat system is awful, too. The more time you put into it, the more you realize the developers just don't respect your time. On top of that, this is hands down the most toxic community I’ve ever encountered in my 26 years of online gaming.
"PVE" lobbies are gone and I am spending 3 plus minutes waiting for a match. I am uninstalling. It was fun while it lasted but now all that is left is toxic trash players.
You grind your a'' off to get a big stash full of good weapons and gear and for what? To load in with a 80k+ loadout just to get killed by cheaters with totally fresh steam accounts - sometimes even back to back rounds by the same cheaters. How is this even possible?? You save their profile links and after a short amount of time you'll see a "game ban 0 days ago" on their profile and guess what ... you won't get your loadout that you've lost to a !banned! cheater back. A while ago embark were so kind to do that but I guess they're to busy to f*ck this game even more :) It's quite sad because in the beginning this game was so much fun but now it's just frustrating and a total waste of time. There's no other option to uninstall the once loved Arc Raiders and move on
Took a break for a few months and after coming back it's been nothing but rats and garbage, good looking game and it can be fun to play if I didn't have to constantly face teams of three people every time I play. The option to go in solo or as a duo has been removed and the vaunted algorithm that matches you vs aggressive or non aggressive players depending on your playstyle is so much smoke and mirrors. The biggest problem is the match making, if it takes too long to find a match (which it will as the player base has shrunk a bit) you end up getting thrown into the next match which so far seems to just be hostile trios, this means that anytime you try to quest or get anything done you're just in a massive pvp zone and unless you're in a trio you're also outnumbered. So if getting jumped by three people every match sounds like fun to you or you like preying upon/getting preyed upon by the next guy around the corner then I would recommend this game, otherwise hard pass.
I perm removed this game from my library. Never buying this again.
Great game, bad match making. After taking a break from the initial launch period and testing the game, I was beginning to fall in love with it again. I've only ever been playing solo, and one of my first experiences was seeing 8-10 players standing around in the same location, I had assumed they were bots but they were just a pre-made in a solo lobby (they were just doing goofy things so I didn't mind). However my regular experience, especially on the loot events (storm, night raid, etc) is a pre-made group sniping each other to get into solo lobbies. Seems most of them are from console. I'm not an advocate for the whole PvE mode, I enjoy the vision Embark is going for here. However given the current player numbers it's too easy for a couple of mates to que snipe a lobby/map and go wild on solo lobby. The queues are already average 8 minutes for an OCE player with automatic server, I attempted to turn cross-play off but I couldn't get a match after 20minutes. I'd love for them to fix this issue and make my review a positive. There's too many maps/modes for the player base imo, if we could multiselect maps to band aid the matchmaking I'd love that. Or punish the bad actors.
Game absolutely sucks now, complete waste of time. No one plays the actual game anymore, strictly PVP only players left. Riddled with cheaters.
Over hyped. Combat meh. Won't last as long as real pvp games like pubg. Catered to the crowd that advocates begging for their life, then shooting people in the back.
