'Baby's First RPG' I'll give the game a positive review although I actually fell asleep while playing it. The quests are super repetitive and dull, the scenery is flat and uninteresting. The mobs are cute in a juvenile cartoony sort of way. There is nothing however that grabbed me or gave me any desire to continue playing. It just felt...pointless. So why a positive review? For one, it works. Works well even. For another, it is still in active development and still supported by the developers. That is rare for inexpensive Steam games. It would be a great game for the younger set that is maybe getting interested in adventure type games but don't yet have the capacity to micromanage a complex inventory or figure out the best way to allocate skill points on a grid that looks like a traffic map of Washington DC. It is not for hardcore MMORPG players. It is a clean, cute, simple RPG. Sometimes you want the half espresso, half latte, with 2 pumps of caramel, a shot of almond milk, white chocolate shavings, and a dollp of low fat whipped cream shaped like a rhinocerous wearing a tutu. Sometimes you just want a cup of coffee. This game...is just a cup of coffee. I don't like coffee. Some do. So give it a try for $.99. It probably costs less than that coffee.

A pre-alpha free to play mobile game disguised and sold as a PC MMO. I picked this game up a while ago due to it's cheap price and at the time very positive reviews. I only just remembered I had it, and was looking forward to giving it a whirl. Immediately the game felt very basic and lacking. I wanted to give it a fair go however, so I stuck with it for a good couple hours and visited the first 3 'zones'. I can honestly say it only got worse. Well that is it stayed the same. The game has a really basic 'gameplay loop'. Quest 1 - kill 10 of little monster A, Quest 2 - kill 8 more of little monster A but this time collect something they now drop which they didnt before, Quest 3 - kill slightly bigger version of monster A (note even though it take 3 times as long to kill it drops less loot than normal monsters, and to kill monsters you just repeatedly tap '1' on the keyboard as the only "skill" you unlock in the first 2 hours are a heal (which you never need as nothing takes much of your health), a skill that buffs your armour for half an hour (so you only press it very infrequently). And a crit buff that you can only use once ever 5 mins. Oh and did I mention this game has "gems" you can buy with real money to buy cosmetics... Yeah, no thanks. Cons: Mobile port. Boring repetative gameplay loop. Cosmetic microtransactions. Very, very early access. Pros: Cute design.
me and my wife have been playing this taking a break from /world of warcraft/ having a good time can't wait for more content two thumbs up
it's early access, but still... I feel like there's a few things that can be said for this game. 1) the quests, even in the starting areas, are just dull as hell. it's a real grind to finish everyquest going as, right now, you kill X things, turn in quest, then kill X things again but this time picking up an item they drop. rinse/repeat til current max level. Take a leaf out of WoW's book with levelling 'zones' and the ability to turn in lots of quests at once to a quest hub of sorts, rather than having to seek out the next quest giver once you hit the next level you gained from the quest before. 2) Crafting mechanics. the mining spots need massively rebalancing. early game content, which is essentially what this mining is, shouldn't take nearly as many rocks as it currently does to craft a single bar. 3) the developer has designed the game around mobile users and microtransactions for progression. You can tell this is the case because the framework is already in place to buy thousands of gems for $50 a throw, even though there aren't actually any items in game that require it yet. Do not be surprised at all when that gem store in game (where you can curently pick up only vanity items) turns in to a store where rings/amulets for additional buffs/etc appear. 4) no grouping/party system. Not that it matters at the moment as there were only myself and my friend online when we played, but no way to add friends/communicate in game at the moment. Group/Party system that share quest objectives/can kill the same enemies perhaps. 5) skills. The adventurer class (default) gets 4 skills in 2 hours of gameplay, and only one of them is actually used in regular combat. you need LOTS more skills. Clicking an enemy, then mashing 1 until it dies isn't exactly entertainment. it's just dull.
Antaria Online is an MMO that seems to be someone's high-school project that is far too grindy for absolutely no reason and hardly any zones, no layers to change for farming when others are on and you can't complete objectives, level up, and hardly had any features in the game.
Okay, so here my review for this game after playing it for now for nearly 44 hours over a few days and even making suggestions on the forum and even posting a specific guide. I KNOW the game is still in BETA and has a long way to go to implement things so I'll break it down into sections to make things easier. Just please be aware that this review could possibly change in the future when new things are implemented, so this is a review of the game dated from 19/04/2018.
STORY/QUESTS
There is NO story for the game, you are just planted into the world with no clue what's going on. As for quests.. they only currently get you to around level 25 then there are no more quests other than the three daily quests which one is hidden behind the lvl 30 zone. Unfotunately from level 25 you are then left to grind, grind, grind and more grind hundreds and hundreds of monsters to get to the current cap (45).
GRAPHICS
They are nice, bright and detailed unfotunately EVERYTHING to do with menus, HUDs, windows etc are so huge and chunky. The monsters look nice but sadly ones used in different areas are just recolours of monsters in all zones. There are NO skill animations so for example you cast the Assassinate skill the character leans forward and practically does nothing but swipe.. same for every other skill. The icons and item graphics are nice also.
MUSIC/SOUND EFFECTS
The music is nothing to spectacular, it won't have you huming along but within an hour you'll probably find you will have your own music on and this game's music turned off. The sound effects for things such as skills I don't even think exist or at least I really don't remember hearing any stand out.
COLLECTABLES
Whilst the game relies heavy on the grind where EVERY quest is go kill something.. there is a collectables system in place where you can collect items and store them in a menu for later use or just to keep as a collectionist. NOW! here's MY issue with this.. you have to go grind and grind and grind for hours usually to get crate drops, these crates will give you 1 of a few items it has.. the drop rate for these are so freaking low your gonna be suffereing from narcolepsy after a week of trying to collect these crates just to try and get one item the crate MAY drop, the only one you need.. it's NOT a nice thing at all, in fact.. at one point I found myself thinking the game was sadistic in torturing players like this.
GEMS
The game has a real world cash currency by the name of 'Gems', basically used to purchase in game items (that are NOT pay to win before anyone starts with that,) mainly vanity items.. though there is ONE potion you need to spend Gems for to help make certain miner's gear. The good thing about FOUR of the daily quests available you will get Gems for finishing them so it's not to bad to get this currency without spending real cash. The Gem gaining is on BOTH classes and on the Tin and Silver Ore daily quests, the copper daily nets you 1000 miner guild experience.
UPDATES
The game's updates don't seem to happen that often and when they do it seems very little is added with each one, usually just bug fixes and maybe a vanity item added here or there, or something changed with stats. Any new content is very far and few between updates.
THE FUTURE
I really hope this game has a great future ahead of it, with a lot of changes and additions made to the game it could be one of those mmos that will be around for a very long time. The devs have stated they are hoping to get the game out of BETA around 2020 but at the rate of content updates I really can't see THAT happening. The one thing that's letting this game down at the moment IS in fact the lack of content it has, not many quests and ALL of the ones there are, are boring kill quests, other than two mining daily quests. I really don't understand why they can't make other quests like fetch quests.. go pick up starfish off the beaches, retrieve 20 logs from trees etc.. Quests are the easiest and quickest things to create and program in games so lack of quests should NOT be an issue in this day and age but yet this game suffers BADLY with the lack of them, the newest area only has 1 quest.
OVERALL
It's NOT a bad game for what it is at the moment, it's fun for a day or so but then it becomes repetative, boring, unrelenting and cruel with the grindfest from the second area. To be honest.. I feel that the game really should NOT have been released to the public yet, not with the lack of content it has which guarentees you will come across some people in game (who actually talks) moan about the grind.. i'll put my hand up here and admit I am also guilty of that, cos it's true.. the grind is terrible.. as soon as you hit the zone after the starting area the grind is real, kill monsters to collect 100 of these, kill 40 of these, kill 60 of them.. and the later zones don't fair much easier either. SO! i'd recommend the game now for only one purpose.. to get ahead of anyone else in the main release.. that is it BUT be prepared for what it has instal for you, grinding! TELL A LIE there's two reason.. to support the development of the game quicker also. EDIT: I've since given up on this game.. clearly the devs are interested in 1 thing only and that is $£$£$£.. it's all fine and well posting crap in the forums asking followers to give ideas and suggestions but NOT actually listening to them and adding in what they REALLY want takes the PI$$ . Suggestion after suggestion aims at mostly people wanting NEW in game contents such as party options, dungeons, classes, MORE quests, less grinding, UI/GUI resized to make it less chunky.. BUT NO! they give content update in the form of costumes and glamor ♥♥♥♥♥ which basically adds NOTHING but visual to the game and that's all. I'm sorry if this hurts anyones feelings about the game but it is 100% true.
Could have removed the achievements before abandoning the game, at least for AGCR reasons.
Antaria Online was an ambitious effort by a solo dev to create a casual MMO of sorts, with various mobs, a handful of classes, and ample cosmetics. It went through a relaunch late into its life cycle, overhauling the graphics and retooling some systems, but presumably failed to garner enough traction to support its server costs. If you own it, you have about a month left to do whatever you need.

Pros
✅ Cute, charming graphics. Lovely animations ✅ Including town, 5 unique locales to explore ✅ 3 classes (with a 4th that was hinted but never released) ✅ Grindable premium currency was optional. Mostly for cosmetics and boosting equipment ✅ Player market available to everyone and didn't limit what could be sold ✅ Crafting, skill trees, customizable stats, and optional gathering systems
Cons
❌ Empty. Light player base, even at its peak ❌ A long, unfulfilling grind. The game has nothing else going for it other than to level cap ❌ Gameplay didn't really vary between classes. It all boiled down to smashing your primary skill and buffing occasionally ❌ Partying split XP, making it more efficient to grind solo. This created competition for limited mobs ❌ Unfinished. As of writing, the 4th map has large, empty spaces. Incomplete lore ❌ Painfully high cap achievements. Likely intended to be attainable with future content, but in its present state, is virtually impossible to finish alone. The developer cut all ties without considering the community In summary, Antaria was a grinding game for casual players. Like most MMOs, it lacked an endgame beyond fashion, and hoped to earn extra on microtransactions from the impatient. The gameplay loop was to punch mobs to level up, collecting loot and gear along the way. It looked pretty, and the monster designs were excellent, but its world was largely lifeless. There was no real incentive to work together with other players, no massive bosses or instance dungeons, for example. It didn't matter what class you played, as they neither had synergy in parties nor tangible differences in terms of DPS (at least, there were no enemies that last long enough to find out). Even if the game wasn't slated for shutdown, I still struggle to recommend it. Grinding for grinding's sake has its place for certain audiences, but Antaria fails to make the process fun. You'll be spamming the same skill shortcuts as you tear through tens of thousands of enemies, and for what? There's no challenge, no community, no compelling story to reward players for their efforts. Owners have about a month left to revisit the game and finish up any loose ends. After that, the game will be unplayable once servers go offline. For this reason, the purchased button has been disabled. Achievement Hunters: You're in for a bad time. Besides the 100,000 kills required, with no way around it, the 5 million gold is a number so high, that it's impossible to farm alone at this time. You'll need to find active players willing to pool funds, or a retiring player with the full amount - and don't forget to factor in 5% market tax, which means 250,000 to create a listing for it. That aside, it's a very long, very painful grind. >200hrs to 100%
Abandonware- no real explanation. Deleted Discord without notice (so everyone that supported or met along the way can't get in contact with each other). A definite no.
Game is abandonned now, used to be good
