Yeah, its pretty good. You can be a flesh golem or a skeleton and you go around scraping together rocks and reeds and the mortal essences of your enemies.
game is bad
A buggy, laggy, bundle of free assets pretending to be a game. Exploration is non-existent,enemies teleport at random either taking half your health in a second or dropping dead themselves at random. Interesting concept, horrible execution.

one of the most unique RPG experiences one could ask for. if youre willing to put up with the spaghetti netcode of this game, then there is something great waiting for you on the other side.
Warning: In-Game Cash Shop This game is infested with a toxic mobile app style cash shop. You will be prompted to and expected to give money/credit card details to the developers through this cash shop to buy in-game goods so you can play the game.

Note: Dead multiplayer game This game contains no meaningful single player content. There's no players, no populated servers. This multiplayer-only game cannot be played as intended.
This is a weird bit of garbage that pretends to be an MMO; it comes from a 2 person development team (given most successful games require multimillion dollar budgets and dozens if not hundreds of talented developers, the work of two incompetents and no budget does explain, but not excuse this failure). The game promised a "PvPvE" mentality, which as always boiled down to griefers killing anyone they could find, but were disappointed, because nobody played this garbage P2W crap. The feature list is massive, and only rivaled by the inability of the developers to deliver any of it properly. If wishes were horses, beggars would ride. As the old proverb goes. So, "Animyst" is a dead multiplayer game. Why did it fail? It's video game autopsy time! The chief cause of failure is the developer thinking that their game will "go viral" without actually creating any reason for it do so. Competition amongst multiplayer centric games is extreme, and there's only a finite player base to appeal to. This game failed to reach any kind of critical mass and died as a result. Let's go into some of the reasons this particular game failed to appeal to gamers, despite the zero up front cost. The game graphics look better than you might expect, but that's just because it looks like some or all of them are "borrowed" from asset stores or wherever. Gamers can tell... and it comes across as insincere. There's also the old adage that those who lack the budget and talent to make their own game assets usually lack the budget and talent to do the rest of the job of game development properly, too. This game is fairly dated at 7 years old... and even back then it looked old and busted compared to contemporary, professionally made 3D games of the same period. It looked bad then, it looks worse now. On the important matter of pricing and value for gamers, there's a lot going on here with monetisation, so this really shouldn't be considered a truly free product because of that. There's no initial download price, but the developer was, delusionally, charging $5 USD for this. Price barriers, especially on low quality products, can be a direct cause of failure. It seems like a nice gesture for the game to have no up-front cost anymore, but it also tells us that the game wasn't good enough to succeed as a paid product. This is also a bit of a slap in the face to anyone who showed enough questionable judgement to pay money for this... nobody got refunded. It doesn't stop there, this game is also infested with mobile app store like microtransactions. This is a consumer hostile model that we don't need to see on PC. It's deceptively priced to gouge gamers, and that's a reason in itself to avoid this. The grift and cash grabbing keeps getting worse... this product is hooked into Steams "Totally not NFTs" Community Marketplace/Inventory, which means you can buy and sell and trade "tokens" (fungible ones in this case) for real world money, and you can "earn" these tokens by playing the game. This is never done with the interests of gamers in mind, the "developer" behind this gets paid for every trade, and has presumbly also farmed up a bunch of the items to sell on the market, too. This kind of Steam abuse, combined with a minimum-viable-product non-game, does no service to gamers whatsoever. In terms of public reception, this failed. There's well over 130 million gamers on Steam. SteamDB showed the game peaked at less than 100 concurrent players, they couldn't even break three figures, and now there's basically nobody playing it. Even though it's free. This is a dismal public reception, but it's easy to see why gamers rejected it. Bearing in mind that free games don't add +1 to your game collector count, should you bother adding this to your library and downloading it? Nope. This isn't worth downloading. I didn't pay money, but I still feel ripped off.
This should be the baseline for every single AAA going into the future
very good game great exploration, enemy design and build variety
There is definitely something here. Ran well on linux.
This game is really captivating and even though the overworld is a barren dead wasteland there seems to be a good few secrets I would really like to uncover... but the server lag is so bad that it's very hard to fight creatures or get anything done, which is a shame
